Fri 08 Dec 2023 CSG Junior School
    Dear Parents / Carers

We hope that Year 3 enjoyed their Egyptian day workshop with Stuart from Portals to the Past. And once again the costumes were brilliant.

Jack and the Beanstalk - It was great to have a live theatre performance in school. Thank you to all of the parents who have made donations towards the cost of this show from M&M Productions. We still have a slight shortfall so the ParentMail payment item will remain open until the end of term if anyone else would wish to make a contribution.

Carol Services - our Carol Services for Junior Children will be held at the Village Church on the afternoon of Tuesday 12th December. Service times are 1:35pm to 2:20pm for Year 3 & Year 4 children and their families, and 2:30pm to 3:15pm for Year 5 & Year 6 children and their families. Parents are invited to attend their child's service. The children have been working very hard rehearsing the songs and the musicians practising their parts for this service and we are really looking forward to sharing this with you all.

Year 3 - are designing and making their own Tin Forest in a shoe box next week. If you have a spare shoe box floating around please can you send it in with your child. Also if you can spare a little bit of tin foil that would be great. We have some but any extra would be much appreciated.

Parking - Unfortunately, Parsonage Road is becoming busier and busier at the end of the day. More and more parents are parking in and around the turning circle, blocking drives and making it impossible for other road users to use. Please can we remind you there should be little to no traffic on Parsonage Road at pick up and drop off and the Hillside Close and Lagger gates should be used as first preferences.

Arrival and start times - A reminder that the school gates open at 8:45, the children will always have a morning task to complete. The register is completed by 8:55 and the first lesson starts promptly at 9am. Please ensure that your child is at school promptly so they are prepared for the day to begin. Arrival in school after 9:15am may be marked as an absence for the whole morning, but will definitely be recorded as late.

Lunch orders - a reminder that we phone through our lunch orders to St Joseph's kitchen just after 9:30am each morning. If you need to cancel a meal for that day, if your child is off school, we do need to know before 9:30am otherwise we will still have to pay for that meal. Thank you

Christmas Post Box - The post box is still available outside the school office for the children to post Christmas cards to their friends. Please ensure that the child's full name and class is written on the envelope. Please ensure that sweets and chocolate are NOT put into envelopes or brought into school.

    Dear Parent/Carer,

We hope everyone enjoyed seeing the school fully prepared for Christmas this morning - our Christmas elves have been working extremely hard and it has been worth every moment  to see the look on the children's faces. As the weather is growing more wintery please ensure your child has a warm coat to wear.

    Parent Helpers
Thank you so much to all our parent helpers who make such a difference to the childrens education. Due to the upcoming festive events we will not require any further help for the rest of this term so please take the opportunity to have a well earned break!
