  • Infant - Weekly Email - Friday 21st October

Fri 21 Oct 2022 CSG Infant School

    Dear Parent/Carer,

We have reached the end of our first half term and it is lovely to see all the children so settled and happy in their learning. We would like to wish everyone a great week off!

    PTA Smartie Challenge

This half term our PTA are challenging the children to help at home and complete as many chores or good deeds as possible to help us fundraise.

Every child will be coming home with a tube of smarties.

In return, once they have eaten the chocolate, we are asking them to fill their tubes with money they earn from doing chores or good deeds. The tubes are ideal for placing 20p coins into for each chore that they do.

The money filled smartie tubes should be returned to their classrooms after half term. Deadline is Friday 4th November. The money raised by each class will be counted and the class that raises the most will be announced in assembly the following week.

Children Starting School or Moving up to Junior School - September 2023
The portal to apply for a place through Buckinghamshire Council opens at 11am on the 4th November 2022 and closes for online applications on the 15th January 2023.

    Parent Governor Election
We have a vacancy for an elected parent governor. Please see the attached letter for further information. Please note that the deadline has been extended to 9am on 1st November 2022.

    Lost Property
We have a large amount of lost property which on Friday 4th November will be out in the playground at the end of the school day. Please check through this as after this date all remaining lost property will be handed over to our PTA to sell.

Fri 07 Oct 2022 CSG Junior School
    Dear Parents / Carers

Good luck to the boys U11s team who have their first match of their season today. The girls team played valiantly in very wet conditions last week. They lost to Robertswood but still have their league games to play this season.

Year Four had a fantastic time at Davenies on Tuesday. All the children worked really hard and cooperated well together as a team. Team captain Isabelle did a great job shuttling our scores back and forth. Impressive performance by all. We didn’t win the trophy but that didn’t dampen our spirits as we all had so much fun.

We hope that Year 5 enjoyed their workshop with Mexicolore today. A reminder that the PTA disco is on tonight between 6 and 7:30pm at the Junior School.

Governor election - we are currently looking for a new parents governor. The attached letter gives further details and a nomination form. Nominations should be sent to Donna Westall via either school office by 9am on the closing date for nominations which is 24th October 2022.

Parent Volunteers - Thank you to all the parents who have recently volunteered to come into school and have started the DBS process. Please can we remind you to complete the forms online and bring in your relevant identification.   We still have a large number of applications still outstanding and you will be unable to come in and help until these are completed.

Clubs - Mr Ballard has extended the times for Tag Rugby and Netball so these both now finish at 4:45pm. All of the side gates are open until 5pm on evenings that clubs are held.

Workshops in school - there are several workshops in school this term and a few parents have asked where they can see these on ParentMail. If you log onto the ParentMail App and select Payments from the main menu you go to the To Pay screen. Items that are compulsory are listed under the To Pay section. Items that are optional (e.g. Ties) or asking for voluntary donations (i.e. Year 5 Mayan Day, Year 3 Egyptian Day or Year 6 Greek Day) should be listed under the Shop tab at the bottom of the screen. Your support in making donations towards the costs of these events is very much appreciated. All of these items allow you to make a donation over the suggested amount if possible but only one single payment can be made per child. If your child is entitled to Pupil Premium we can offer support for these costs. If you are unable to make the full donation partial amounts are also welcome. Please contact the office if you need any assistance.

  • Infant - Weekly Email - Friday 7th October

Fri 07 Oct 2022 CSG Infant School

    Dear Parent/Carer

    Pick Up Locations
To try and alleviate the ‘busyness’ of the playground at pick up time, particularly around the main entrance, Ruby class will now be dismissed from the side gate on the far side of the playground (where Emerald class are currently dismissed from). Woodland School collection from the Shakman playground on Wednesday and Thursday will remain the same.

Diamond class will now be dismissed from the main entrance, not from under the window any more.

All other classes will be dismissed from the same locations.

These new locations will be in place from Monday.

    Parent Volunteers
Thank you to all the parents who have recently volunteered to come into school and have started the DBS process. Please can we remind you to complete the forms online and bring in your relevant identification. We still have a large number of applications still outstanding and you will be unable to come in and help until these are completed.

    Friday Reading
Please note that this will return to Friday mornings at 08.45 for Year 2 classes from next Friday. Year 1 will continue to be at the end of the school day at 3.05 p.m. for the time being. We will review this arrangement after half term.

    Parent Governor Election
We have a vacancy for an elected parent governor. Please see the attached letter for further information.

    Earrings
By this stage of the school year, children who had their ears pierced during the summer will no longer need to continue wearing earrings to school.  From Monday, if children come into school wearing earrings we will be contacting you to come and remove them.
