Wed 15th July email

Hello everyone

Well, here we are, at the end of a very strange school year.

It's been lovely to see more of you in school and to hear all your highs and lows of lockdown. It really has been so good to talk to you face to face.

I always struggle at this time of year. I hate saying goodbye to our year 6s and some of our year 2s, and it is particularly hard this year without all the lovely assemblies and shows. However, having spent time with some of them over the last few weeks I know that they are ready to move on and start the next exciting chapters in their lives.

Whilst chatting over the last couple of weeks it has been heart warming that every single child has spoken so positively about spending time with you, their families. You've made their experiences so positive and I know that amongst the inevitable negatives caused by lockdown, time spent together with you will always remain a little nugget of specialness in their hearts.

My own family have also been talking about the best and worst of lockdown, I've loved spending time with my family, although I'm sure we've all got on each other's nerves at times.
I've loved baking and will continue to make bread. I never did the mega spring clean I expected to do and realise now that this is never going to happen. Furthermore I acknowledge that I don't care!

At the beginning of lockdown I planted some vegetable seeds and it's been lovely to begin to harvest them this week, peas, tomatoes and cucumbers have been brilliant and we've literally been eating yellow courgettes with every meal.

I would like to thank all of you for sharing my lockdown with me and for your lovely comments and messages. I have so enjoyed talking to some of you with  phone calls and I will miss this. Thank you so much for your warmth and friendliness.

My thoughts are as always with those of you who have lost friends or family members.

Have a safe summer and I look forward to seeing you in September.
