Junior - Weekly email - Friday 21st October

Dear Parents / Carers

We have had another busy week in school but have all enjoyed Dress Down Friday today.

Thank you to the Eco Warriors and Mrs Peal for planting bulbs around the site. We will look forward to seeing them grow in the spring.

Year 6 Greek Day - Year 6 looked fabulous in their Greek costumes yesterday. Thank you to the Year 6 staff for running this workshop. If anyone is able to make a donation you are still able to do this via ParentMail

Football match - well done to the U10s team who won their match against Holtspur 3-0 yesterday.

Lunch orders - menus for the rest of this term are now available on Parent Mail. Please place orders as soon as possible  for the first week back after half term - orders must be placed one week in advance.

Secondary school applications - the online portal for applying for a secondary school place for September 2023 closes on 31st October 2022.

Governor election - we are currently looking for a new parent governor. The attached letter gives further details and a nomination form. Nominations should be sent to Donna Westall via either school office by 9am on the closing date for nominations which has been extended to 1st November 2022.

Parent Evening bookings - you can book your parent evening appointments now using this link https://chalfontstgiles.schoolcloud.co.uk/. Bookings will be open until 3pm on Monday 31st October.

Friday reading - every Friday morning, parents and carers are invited to come into their child’s class for 10 minutes to read, look at their child’s books and say hello to the class teacher. On Friday mornings the school gates will be open 5 minutes earlier at 8:40am to give you time to get to classes. Parents and carers can enter the classrooms from 8:45am until 8:55am, when the first bell goes.

PTA Smarties Challenge Fundraiser - This half term they are challenging the children to help at home and complete as many chores or good deeds as possible to help us fundraise. They have given every child a tube of smarties. In return, once they have eaten the chocolate or shared it with a friend, we are asking them to fill their tubes with money they earn from doing chores or good deeds. The money filled smartie tubes should be returned to their classrooms after half term. Deadline is Friday 4th November. More details and bank details for those who prefer are on Classlist. Many thanks, Junior School PTA and Infant School PTA.
