Fri 24 Feb 2023 CSG Junior School
    Dear Parents / Carers

We hope that everyone enjoyed the workshop with author Jack Meggitt-Phillips on Tuesday. He was very enthusiastic and engaging and gave an entertaining assembly. Huge thanks to Chiltern Bookshops and Mrs Mannick for organising this event.

World Book Day is on Thursday 2nd March- children are very welcome to dress as their favourite book character. There will be book related activities in school today.

Nearly-new books If you have any children's books in good condition that you no longer need and are happy to donate,  please bring them into school. We will be using these books as part of a World Book Day event. Even one or -two books would be appreciated! Books can be handed to teachers or there is a drop box in the school office.

U11 Boys Football team victory - the U11s team played an exciting away game at Chesham Bois School on Wednesday. After initially going 2-0 down they put in a really good team performance to claim a decisive 4-6 victory, Good luck to them in the next round of the U11s cup when they play Butlers Court School next Friday.

Gym club - parents have been invited to watch their children at gym club next Thursday morning. We would ask that parents attending do not use the staff car park but park away from school and walk up to the main entrance. Many thanks for your support with this.

Amazon Wish List - We would like to pass on our thanks for all the generous gifts we have received recently. Some of the gifts were anonymously given so please accept our thanks here. For future gifts, it is always lovely to know who has sent them so we can thank you properly! The link to the gift list can be found. here https://amzn.eu/fVdAqFF

    Dear Parents / Carers

Thank you to Springbucks Gym club for running gym sessions for Year 3 and 4 children this week.

Safer Internet Day - on Tuesday 7th February we joined schools and youth organisations across the UK in celebrating Safer Internet Day 2023. Safer Internet Day is a global campaign to promote the safe and responsible use of technology, which calls on children and young people, parents, carers, teachers, social workers, law enforcement, companies, policymakers and more, to help to create a better internet.

Using the internet safely and positively is a key message that we promote in school, and celebrating Safer Internet Day is a great opportunity for us to re-emphasise the online safety messages we deliver throughout the year. We would be delighted if you could join us in celebrating the day by continuing the conversation at home.

To help you with this, the UK Safer Internet Centre has created some free activities and information for parents and carers which are available at: https://saferinternet.org.uk/safer-internet-day/safer-internet-day-2023/parents-and-carers . Whether you have 5 minutes to start a conversation or hours to spare, there are top tips, quizzes and films which you can use at home with your child. If you have any concerns or questions about keeping your child safe online, please do get in touch with your child’s class teacher or Mr Haywood, our Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Football matches Well done to the U11s team who won their first league match on Tuesday. They put in a solid performance and won 3-0 against Little Chalfont. This team also convincingly won their cup game against St Mary's in Farnham Royal. Their 5-0 win puts them through to the next round of the U11 boys cup. Thank you to Mr Holmes for managing this team

    Dear Parents,

We have reached the end of another half term and it is lovely to see the days becoming longer and the shoots of all the spring flowers starting to grow. The children have worked very hard and enjoyed all of their learning experiences, thoroughly deserving a good break over the half term holiday. We would like to wish all of you a wonderful week and look forward to seeing the children fresh and ready to learn on their return.

    Safer Internet Day
On Tuesday 7th February joined schools and youth organisations across the UK in celebrating Safer Internet Day 2023.
To help you with this, the UK Safer Internet Centre have created some free activities and information for parents and carers which are available at: https://saferinternet.org.uk/safer-internet-day/safer-internet-day-2023/parents-and-carers .
