    Dear Parents / Carers

Welcome back for the last half term of the school year. There is a lot happening so it will be a busy few weeks.

Year 4 Davenies Cricket Festival - 10 schools from across the local area came together last Tuesday bringing their eager Year 4 teams of boys and girls to play cricket on the playing fields at Davenies. Ably assisted by an umpiring team of Davenies’ staff, each team played four, 6-a-side games in which the hits were high, catches won, matches and the excitement fizzled and squealed throughout a really fun afternoon. Each team wore their team t-shirts with pride and they took away a certificate stating how well they had represented their schools both on and off the pitch. Hot dogs and doughnuts rounded off an energetic afternoon of festival cricket. Mr Thomas (of Davenies School) thanked all the players for their efforts, enthusiasm and good sportsmanship and the many spectators for their encouraging support of all teams.

Chiltern Music Academy come and try day - Dear Parents, This is a brief reminder that you are warmly invited to bring your child to try out orchestral instruments at the Chiltern Music Academy Instrument Trails this Saturday, 10th June from 8.45 - 10.30am. Whether a child wishes to begin learning an instrument in school or outside school hours, choosing the correct instrument is very important, so we invite you to come and try out some instruments, and gain personal advice from our specialist teachers. The visit will end with an opportunity for the children to stand next to the instrument of their choice as the young players of Sinfonia Orchestra play to us. Please see the attachment for more details. Please click Try out an Instrument at CMA! if you would like to reserve a place for your child. Kind regards Elen Môn Wayne (Principal) & Kate Venvell (Outreach Manager)
