ONLY BOOKS PURCHASED THROUGH THIS LINK WILL BE SIGNED AND DEDICATED ON THE DAY

Lucy Hawking is a children’s writer, the co-creator of non-fiction compendium Unlocking the Universe and the George fiction series, with her father Stephen Hawking. Lucy is a former journalist, having written widely for British newspapers, and she gives regular talks about science and stories to audiences all over the world.

Lucy Hawking will introduce her new book, Princess Olivia Investigates the Sea of Plastic, through an interactive and highly entertaining talk, designed to engage primary school audiences with storytelling, science and the wonder of the world's oceans. By sailing across the seas with Princess Olivia and her band of hilarious pirates, young audiences will investigate the mystery of the missing fish, dive around the reefs and find out how we can all help keep the oceans and our planet healthy and clean.

Summer Reading Challenge: We have heard from the village library that many of our children completed the library's 'Summer Reading Challenge.' It is fantastic to hear that so many children kept up their reading over the summer. If you have a certificate from the challenge, please do bring this into school so we can recognise your efforts in Friday Achievement Assembly.

  • Junior - Weekly email - Friday 1st September

Fri 01 Sep 2023 CSG Junior School
    Dear Parents / Carers

We hope that everyone has had a lovely summer break and that you are all ready for the start of the new term next Tuesday (5th September).

ParentMail - Parents of new starters should have received a login link for ParentMail. Children will be moved into their correct class groups once term has begun. Should you have any queries that you cannot resolve via the Parentmail online help system, please email the office and we will aim to resolve these.

School meals - details of children's food allergies will be updated on ParentMail. Please inform the School Office of any food allergies that we may need to be aware of, or any changes that may occur over the year.

Lunch boxes - A reminder that we do not allow sweets, fizzy drinks or chocolate bars in our lunchboxes. For advice on how to provide a healthy lunch for your child please see here. We have a number of children attending this school who have a severe allergy to nuts & sesame seeds - including both peanuts and tree-growing nuts.  This allergy is not just triggered through ingestion but can also be via touch and inhalation so we request that no items containing nuts or nut products be brought onto site, either during the school day or before and after school.  This includes birthday treats that get handed out to the children.  Such products also include peanut butter and Nutella / hazelnut chocolate spread and some cereal bars.  Your cooperation on this matter is very much appreciated.

ClassList - the new classes and Class Parents have been set up for the new school year. If you would like to be added to ClassList please contact the school office.

Details of all of our Autumn term clubs are available here

We now have details for PFO club and can confirm that this club will be running for all year groups on Mondays after school - details here
