  • Junior - Weekly email - Friday 26th January

Fri 26 Jan 2024 CSG Junior School
    Dear Parents / Carers

Girls U11s football - the girls first match of the year was an exciting 6-4 win for CSG against a strong Seer Green side. Well done to the U11s team and thank you to Mr O'Sullivan for managing the team

Morning registration - a reminder that the school gates open at 8:45am and the class register is completed at 8:55am. Any children arriving in class between 8:55am and 9am will be marked as present but late. The school side gates close at 9am and registers close at 9:15am. Children coming into school after registers have closed at 9:15am will be given a late mark that counts as an unauthorised absence for that session unless their late arrival has been authorised for a medical or other appointment.

Sickness and diarrhoea -a reminder that if your child has sickness and/or diarrhoea, even just the once, they need to stay off school for 48 hours following the last bout.

Photography - the school is looking to update its website and signage. If there are any parents who are professional photographers that would be willing to donate their services to the school we would love to hear from you. Please contact either school office.

Book donations - Many thanks to all the families for the generous book donations we have received over the last two weeks. The books have been of an excellent quality! We are still accepting donations of good quality, age appropriate, second hand books, these can be given to the office.

Junior School Amazon Wish List - for future gifts, it is always lovely to know who has sent them so we can thank you properly! The link to the gift list can be found here https://amzn.eu/fVdAqFF.  We have received some very generous but anonymous donations this week - thank you so much for these items which are very much appreciated.

Emails - please can you take a moment to add your child's name and if possible class to emails sent in to school - this is really helpful especially for pick up emails received late in the school day

Zebra crossings raised tables - public consultation
Please see the information below from the Chalfont St Giles Parish Council

You may be aware that Chalfont St Giles Parish Council proposed a number of traffic calming measures to Buckinghamshire Council through the HS2 Road Safety Fund. The only suggestion that was supported by Bucks Council was to raise the tables on the zebra crossings on the High Street and on Deanway.

There is now a public consultation running until 18 February to explain exactly what is proposed and to ask the public to complete a short survey.

  • Juniors - Weekly email - Friday 19th January

Fri 19 Jan 2024 CSG Junior School
    Dear Parents / Carers

Many thanks to the PTA for organising the Hot Dog Lunch yesterday - the children really enjoyed this. The PTA have planned lots of exciting events this year and full details will be available on Classlist as usual.

Parsonage Road - we are still having problems with parents parking on Parsonage Road, making access for residents and school staff difficult and also parking on pavements meaning that children walking are having to walk on the road. A reminder that our Parking Promise states that parents and carers should not use Parsonage Road, Lagger Close, Hillside Close or Gordons Way at drop off and pick up times. We also ask that parents do not use the staff car park for normal drop off and pick up. There is free parking available in the car park behind  the CoOp and by the playing fields.

Year 4 - details for the Woodrow residential have been sent out this week, blue paper consent forms have been sent home today and the ParentMail balance payment item is now live.

Year 6 - photo consents for the 2024 Leavers Book have been sent out this week -  further details here

School run clubs - emails have been sent out confirming places on school run clubs for this term. There are still spaces in all of the school run clubs but we have closed the online forms so please contact the school office if your child would like to join one of these clubs.

Support with Safeguarding - The link below has been shared with us by Buckinghamshire Council as a way of helping to raise awareness of Child Exploitation including advice on what it is, how to recognise signs and how to speak to your child about this issue. I hope this is of some use to you

Book donations - Many thanks to all the families for the generous book donations we have received over the last two weeks. The books have been of an excellent quality! We are still accepting donations of good quality, age appropriate, second hand books, these can be given to the office.

    Dear Parents,

Welcome back! It has been lovely to see all the children back after the Christmas break and we are looking forward to the term ahead.

    Nursery Volunteers
Nursery are looking for a volunteer to help at snack time on Thursday mornings from 9.30 am to 11 am. If you would be willing to help please contact the school office.

    Absence
When your child is off school please can we remind you to contact the school as early as possible to eliminate any concerns. If your child is to be off school for a number of days please can we ask you to stay in regular contact with us.

    PTA Update
A massive thank you to all the families in the school that have supported the events the PTA held in the Autumn term. We raised an amazing £5,666 profit from the events which we couldn't do without your support and we hope the children have enjoyed the experiences too.  Look out for a classlist update next week on how some of this funding is planned to be spent to benefit all children. We will also publish a list of the Spring Term activities very shortly and the date of our next PTA meeting.
