  • Infant - Weekly Email - Friday 26th May

Fri 26 May 2023 CSG Infant School

    Dear Parents,

We have reached the end of another half term and are looking forward to sunny weather and lots of exciting activities in the coming weeks. We would like to wish everyone a lovely break.

    Coin Donation
I just wanted to say a huge thank you for all the donations of coins given in over the last couple of weeks. These will be a great help when teaching maths in the future as children will be able to handle ‘real’ money within their lessons. This will not only help children with recognition of coins but also enable children to handle money when adding and working out change.

So far, I have collected £40.17 which is amazing, but if you still want to send some coins in please hand it in to the office or put it in an envelope with my name on it.

    Many thanks,
    Mrs Ketley
    Maths Lead

    Class Photos
Stanley Baker Studios will be coming into school to take class group photos on 6th June.  You will be able to pre-register to see your class photograph images when they are ready to view by going into www.photoordering.co.uk and using code JRNSUX4.

Please ensure your child is dressed in their school uniform including their school cardigan or jumper.

    Maths Story Books
We would like to introduce a maths focused storytime once a week to help children embed key skills through stories. If you would like to help the school and donate a book, please click on the link below:

  • Infant - Weekly Email - Friday 12th May

Fri 12 May 2023 CSG Infant School

    Dear Parents,

Well done to Ruby class for their fantastic assembly this morning. It was great to see you all performing so confidently and showing us everything you have been learning.

    Near Miss
Please can we ask parents, childminders NOT to park in the Memorial Hall car park. Yesterday afternoon there was a very near miss when a car was reversing in the car park after picking up a child from Woodland School and did not see a child behind their car.

We do have our Parking Promise which each parent agrees to when their child starts at the school and there is an hour free parking in Blizzards Yard car park. If you would like a parking permit for the car park please come to the school office.

    Maths Resources
We would like to use real coins to teach children about money rather than imitation coins which do not have the same 'feel' as the money they will handle on a day to day basis in reality. If anyone has any small change they would like to donate, Mrs Ketley is looking for all denominations but particularly silver, £1 and £2 coins. If you are able to contribute please hand these in to the school office.
    Thank you.

    Going home with a friend
If your child is going home with a friend who is not on your nominated list please could you let us know before lunchtime unless there is a genuine emergency.

  • Junior - Weekly email - Friday 12th May

Fri 12 May 2023 CSG Junior School
    Dear Parents / Carers

It has been a busy week in school with Year 6 SATS and Year 5 CATS, Mini Enterprise planning work, a Year 3 Tennis Festival and a netball match amidst the sunshine and showers.

Well done to Year Six for their positive attitudes towards their SATs this week, they have been focused and extremely resilient and they should be very proud of themselves, as are we. They were a credit to their parents and our school.

Congratulations to our winners in the Misbourne Matins Rotary IT Competition, Archie in Year 3, Alayna and Lois in Year 6 all won prizes and have been presented with their certificates in school today,

Congratulations also to the netball team who won in their matches against St Mary's in Beaconsfield - we won on aggregate 10-5 over 2 games.

The PTA are running a second hand uniform after school today and some Year 6s are holding a charity cake sale on the top playground.

Year 6 Mini Enterprise request - Year 6 are working hard preparing their products for sales in school next week. Some of the groups would really appreciate donations of crisp packets, Prime bottles and cardboard tubes (kitchen roll or wrapping paper but not toilet roll tubes). There are some collection boxes in the dining hall.

Zebra Crossing on Deanway - The Parish Council have managed to get the zebra crossing on Deanway reassessed and it now qualifies for a school crossing patrol. This is fantastic news, but now they need someone to take on this role - see flyer hereMore information on the Parish Council website https://www.chalfontstgiles-pc.gov.uk/2023/05/school-crossing-patrol-needed/

  • Junior - Weekly email - Friday 5th May

Fri 05 May 2023 CSG Junior School
    Dear Parents / Carers

We all enjoyed celebrating the coronation this afternoon with our standins for King Charles and Queen Camilla - sadly due to the weather we couldn't meet up with the Infant School but we had a mock ceremony and a parade of crowns in the school hall this afternoon.

We hope that Year 5 enjoyed the amazing planetarium shows in the Wonderdome this week.

The girls football team had two matches this week - winning one and losing one. The scores were Little Chalfont 0-4 CSG and Chesham Prep 1-0 CSG. Thank you to Mr O'sullivan for managing the girls team this season.

A year 4 team took part in a football festival at Butlers Court on Thursday. They played four mini matches, winning three and drawing one. Great performances from all players and they showed good sportsmanship throughout the tournament. Thank you to Miss Balaam for managing the team.

Mr Ballard was very pleased with the netball team's performance this week. They won 4-2 against St Josephs on Thursday. They have now played 3 won 3 this season.

Year 3 PACCAR Trip on Thursday 22nd June. We are looking for two parent helpers from Year 3 to accompany us on the visit. If you are able to help on this trip and have a DBS check valid for our school, please can you contact the School Office

We are looking for two or three parent helpers from Year 4 to accompany us on the visit: preferably male as boys and girls sit separately in the temple for the ceremony. If you are able to help on this trip and have a DBS check valid for our school, please can you contact the School Office

Bikeability Training  for Year 5 and 6 children - we now have just enough children signed up to make the training viable. There are still places available so if you would like to sign your child up for the training please the deadline is now Friday12th May.  Details here or paper copies of the forms are available from the School Office.

Class photos -  Stanley Baker photographers are visiting on Tuesday 16th May to take class photos and leavers photos for the Year 6 children. They are operating a new system to eliminate the need for proofs, and have set up a code that enables parents to pre-register to view class group photograph images when they are uploaded. There will be separate individual codes for Year 6 that will be given to Year 6 children on the day the photographs are taken, and these can be used for their individual photos and their Class photos.

The code for the class group photographs is JRYJM58 and the web address is www.photoordering.co.uk

Lost property - there are a lot of unlabelled items in the lost property box in the Dining Hall. Items will be out in the dining hall at the end of school today and the box will be emptied over the half term holidays.

  • Infant - Weekly Email - Friday 5th May

Fri 05 May 2023 CSG Infant School

    Dear Parents,

It was great to see everyone decked out in red, white and blue today to celebrate the Coronation! Unfortunately the Shakman field was too wet to carry out our plan to meet with the Junior School children. However, the children still thoroughly enjoyed 'Plan B', where we paraded with our crowns in the Memorial Hall, had our own Coronation with Year 6 as King Charles and Queen Camilla, sang God Save the King and finished with a biscuit!

    PTA News

Our PTA has a stall at the CSG Village Street Party on Sunday. It’s aimed at children (tuck shop, bubbles etc) and is raising funds for the school.
