  • Junior Weekly email - Friday 28th April

Fri 28 Apr 2023 CSG Junior School
    Dear Parents / Carers

Congratulations to the girls netball team who won 14-0 against Chorleywood Primary on Tuesday. They all played well as a team and secured a well deserved win. So far they have not conceded a goal in their matches. Good luck in next week's match against St Josephs.

Well done to the U10s football team who made it through to the quarter finals of the U10s cup. They played in a tournament style event on Tuesday, to fit in the remaining games, and were not the winners this time but we hope they all enjoyed taking part.

We hope that everyone enjoys the disco this evening - remember it starts at 6pm and pick up time is 7:30pm. Thank you to the PTA for running this event

PE Kit - a reminder that leggings should not be worn for PE kit, but black jogging / tracksuit bottoms as per the uniform policy.

Dogs - a reminder that dogs are not permitted on the school site - even if they are being carried.

Lagger Close - we have had a complaint from a neighbour about inconsiderate parking and driving in Lagger Close. Please do not park in the turning circle at the school end of Lagger Close.

Online Safety - Please see below for a link to a specially produced video by the Financial Times about online safety for children.

Starring Jodie Whittaker (Dr Who), Paul Ready (Motherland), Shaniqua Okwok (It's a Sin), looks at online harm, regulation and responsibility. The search for their missing son leads a mother and father to a tech company, and a digital gatekeeper who seems to have all the answers.

This is not for viewing with your children, but is a powerful video of the world of social media and the potential for risk. I would strongly encourage you to watch the whole 15 minutes. We will be hosting an e-safety information evening for parents on the 18th May - more details on this will follow next week.

Bikeability Training  for Year 5 and 6 children on Tuesday 30th and Wednesday 31st May - we currently have 15 places taken up of the 24 that are available. The cycle training company needs a minimum of 18 children to take part. If you would like to sign your child up for the training please can you send in the forms by Friday 5th May, so we can confirm if the training can go ahead.  Details here or paper copies of the forms are available from the School Office.

  • Infant - Weekly Email - Friday 21st April

Fri 21 Apr 2023 CSG Infant School

    Dear Parents,

We hope you had a great Easter break and had some lovely family time. It has been so good to have the children back at school, ready to learn, full of smiles and energy.

    Mrs Court

Mrs Court will be leaving Chalfont St Giles Infant School. Her last day will be Friday 28th April and she is leaving education having found a role outside of working in schools. Over the last 13 years Mrs Court has worked across both sites teaching many children skillfully and with great commitment and energy. Her impact on the school and the many cohorts she has taught cannot be understated and we will miss her infectious enthusiasm greatly.  Although we are so sad to see her go, I am sure you will join me in wishing her every success in her change of career and we are sure she will have a similar level of impact there as she has here.

I am pleased to announce that we have appointed Miss Maria Martin as a class teacher. Miss Martin has been working in the school this year as a student, working under the direction of Mrs Court. She has shown herself to be dedicated, committed and has made excellent relationships with all the children and showing the qualities we look for in a teacher at CSG. I am confident she will be an excellent addition to our staff team.

These are Thursday 27th April and Thursday 2nd May. We will let you know the arrangements for these days with as much notice as possible.
