Infant - Weekly Email - Friday 30th June

Dear Parents,

Sports Week
What a busy, fun filled week we have had! The children have taken part in many sporting events, culminating in our sports day today. They should be very proud of all their efforts. Thank you to Mrs Stainbank for organising the week and Mrs O'Dwyer for running Sports Day today.

County Transfer Day - Tuesday 4th July
Nursery please be reminded that Nursery will be closed in the morning due to transition day. If your child is registered to attend our Nursery in the afternoon on that day they are still welcome to attend. Please bring them to Nursery at midday for the start of the afternoon session.

Current Reception and Year 1 children should attend as normal and will spend the morning in their new classes and meet their teachers.

Current Year 2 children will be visiting their new Junior schools on that day.

Any Year 2 children who do not have a transfer day to attend should not be in school on Tuesday 4th July. This will be recorded as an authorised absence day for all Year 2 children. If you have ordered a school lunch please cancel your selection from the Parentmail system.

Open Evening for current pupils
We would like to invite you to the Infant School Open Evening on Tuesday 4th July.

This is very much an informal occasion where your child can show you their classroom and the work they have done through the year.

The times are 4.30pm - 5.30pm for Nursery and 5.00pm - 7.00pm for the main school.  Please feel free to pop in at a time which suits you. Can we please highlight that this is not a formal parents evening where you meet with the teacher, it is a celebration of all your child has achieved over the past year.

SEN Meetings for children on SEN Support
The Parent-Teacher SEN meetings for the Summer term will be taking place w/c 10th July.  Target sheets will be sent home the week before for parents/carers to read and review.  Attending the summer meetings will be current class teachers and teachers for next academic year.  Please look out for an email from Mrs Bannister with more information soon.

Maths Story Books
We would like to introduce a maths focused story time once a week to help children embed key skills through stories. If you would like to help the school and donate a book, please click on the link below:

A big thank you to those of you who have already ordered one of the books off of our wishlist. Can you please give them into the office for the attention of Mrs Ketley once you have bought one. Thank you!

Strawberry Fayre
We are really looking forward to seeing everyone at the Strawberry Fayre tomorrow!
Thanks for all the generous toy and teddy donations.

Reminders for Strawberry Fayre:

- Please be reminded that dogs are not permitted at the Strawberry Fayre. Thank you.

Uniform orders via PMG
PMG Schoolwear will be operating an appointment system over the summer for visits to their stores. They strongly suggest early booking as spaces are limited and the stores can be very busy, especially in the last few weeks of the Summer.
Please note that their cut off date for ordering is August 12th, after which uniform items may not be available before children go back to school in September.
