Infant - Weekly Email - Friday 10th February

Dear Parents,

We have reached the end of another half term and it is lovely to see the days becoming longer and the shoots of all the spring flowers starting to grow. The children have worked very hard and enjoyed all of their learning experiences, thoroughly deserving a good break over the half term holiday. We would like to wish all of you a wonderful week and look forward to seeing the children fresh and ready to learn on their return.

Child Line
Please see below for a link to a new Child Line page regarding dealing with Body Confidence. With the prevalence of social media and the potential for low body confidence as children get older the resources on the website below may prove useful for talking to your child.

Red Nose Day-Friday 17th March
We are again supporting the Comic Relief charity and children are invited to wear something red in return for a suggested £1 donation. This can be a costume with a red theme or just normal uniform with something red.

Safer Internet Day
On Tuesday 7th February joined schools and youth organisations across the UK in celebrating Safer Internet Day 2023. Safer Internet Day is a global campaign to promote the safe and responsible use of technology, which calls on children and young people, parents, carers, teachers, social workers, law enforcement, companies, policymakers and more, to help to create a better internet.
Using the internet safely and positively is a key message that we promote in school, and celebrating Safer Internet Day is a great opportunity for us to re-emphasise the online safety messages we deliver throughout the year. We would be delighted if you could join us in celebrating the day by continuing the conversation at home.
To help you with this, the UK Safer Internet Centre have created some free activities and information for parents and carers which are available at: https://saferinternet.org.uk/safer-internet-day/safer-internet-day-2023/parents-and-carers . Whether you have 5 minutes to start a conversation or hours to spare, there are top tips, quizzes and films which you can use at home with your child.
If you have any concerns or questions about keeping your child safe online, please do get in touch with your child’s class teacher or Mr Haywood, our Designated Safeguarding Lead.
