  • Junior - Weekly email - Friday 1st March

Fri 01 Mar 2024 CSG Junior School
    Dear Parents / Carers

We have another busy week ahead with sports events, parent's evening, library and church trips, World Book day and Family Day as well as our usual clubs and music lessons!

Well done to the U10 girls football team who won their home game against St Mary's last Friday. The U10 boys also won convincingly against Little Chalfont on Tuesday. The U10 girls match planned for today has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

World Book Day - Thursday 7th March - as part of our celebrations for World Book Day, we would like to invite your children to come to school dressed as an exciting word, with our theme being ‘Wonderful Words.’ The possibilities for this are endless and full details are given in the letter here

Thank you for all of your book donations for the second-hand book sale which all children will have the opportunity to visit on World Book Day. We now have plenty of books as we have had 483 books donated!!! We will be asking for a donation of 50p for a book and kindly ask that children initially only bring in one 50p for one book, so we can ensure all children are able to choose one on Thursday 7th. Any books left over at the end of the sale will be available for everyone at an after-school sale in the dining room. We are very grateful for all the kind donations we have received for this sale; the money raised will go back into buying new and interesting books for the children

Family Day - Friday 8th March - Children will be coming in to school at the normal time (between 8.45 and 8.55), parents are invited in from 9:30am. Parents will be able to come in via the main entrance by the office and collect a visitor sticker. Visitors are welcome at any time between 9.30am and 11.30am. and are not expected to stay for the whole 2 hours! Please ensure you have completed the Google form here for Family Day by next Monday 4th March to let us know if you are planning to visit or not

Comic Relief Day - Friday 15th March - We are again supporting the Comic Relief charity and children are invited to wear something red in return for a suggested £1 donation on Friday 15th March. This can be a costume with a red theme or just your normal uniform with something red.

Please see the link below to donate

Online Games - some of the children have been talking about online games in school, and in particular, Fortnite.  Fortnite itself has an age rating of Parental Guidance from PEGI, with some of the add on apps and festivals being rated as a 12+. Please use your judgement as to whether you feel these games are appropriate for your children. Some links to more information are below:

Sickness and diarrhoea -a reminder that if your child has been physically sick or had diarrhoea, even just the once, they need to stay off school for 48 hours following the last bout to reduce the risk of spreading illnesses. Thank you for your support.

Junior School Amazon Wish List - for future gifts, it is always lovely to know who has sent them so we can thank you properly! The link to the gift list can be found here https://amzn.eu/fVdAqFF
