PTA Update – Thank You for an Incredible Year!
What a fantastic year it’s been! We've loved hosting a variety of fun events for children, families, and carers—creating joyful moments for the kids and great opportunities for parents to connect. We hope you’ve enjoyed them as much as we have!

Thanks to your support, we’ve raised an incredible £20,883 this year—all of which goes directly to benefiting our school and children.

This year we’ve helped fund an amazing £29,219 worth of projects, including:

    • A major contribution to the new playground shelter

    • Classroom resources and Bee-Bots for programming fun

    • Enriching experiences like workshops during the Year 2 Tower of London trip

    • A visit from a professional athlete during Sports Week

We couldn’t do any of this without our amazing PTA team—and now, we need you! Some of our current committee members are moving on as their children head to juniors, so we’re looking for new friendly faces to join our team. Whether you want to help out occasionally or get more involved, we’d love to hear from you.
Got fundraising ideas or want to get involved?

Email us at csginfantpta@gmail.com, speak to Jess Allen, Laura Cuss or Abi Mossop or message us on Classlist.

Check out our attached newsletter for more details and photos!

  • Junior - Weekly Email - Friday 4th July

Fri 04 Jul 2025 Junior School
    Dear Parents / Carers,

It was lovely to welcome our new Year 3s into school on Tuesday and we hope that Year 6 children enjoyed visiting their new secondary schools. A copy of the staffing letter for next year is available here

House Music - a huge well done to everyone who took part in the house music yesterday. We have some fantastic singers and musicians in school. Congratulations to Water House who were the winners

Book Fair - next week we have a Travelling Books book fair coming to our school. This is always a great opportunity for the children to browse and buy new books from a variety of excellent authors. A list of some of the books available can be found here:  https://bookfairs.scholastic.co.uk/travelling-books/parents Each year group will have opportunities to visit the fair during the week and to purchase books
    • Cash payments - We will be accepting cash payments for books. We ask that if you choose to do this, that all money is in a sealed envelope and that your child gives this to their class teacher for safekeeping before the fair
    • Travelling Books Book Vouchers - It is also possible to pre-order Travelling Books vouchers to send in rather than cash to spend at the fair. Instructions on how to do this can be found here: https://bookfairs.scholastic.co.uk/travelling-books/parents#vouchers
    • Order online via Travelling books website - You can scan the QR code on the wish list flyer attached or visit this site https://bookfairs.scholastic.co.uk/travelling-books/pay and search for our school to place online orders. Online orders must be placed by 4pm on Thursday 10th July.
    • The children will have two opportunities to visit the book fair which will be on different days of the week. Therefore if any money or vouchers to buy books is brought in on Monday 7th July, then this will ensure your child has their money ready for their slot. Class Teachers will remind children of the days they are visiting. We appreciate that it may not be possible to spare money to spend at the book fair. Class teachers will encourage children to write 'wish lists' to take home for future occasions e.g Christmas / Birthdays. We will also encourage each class to suggest their favourite book from the fair and we will see if we can purchase copies for our school library.

  • Infant - Weekly Email - Friday 27th June

Fri 27 Jun 2025 Infant School
    Dear Parents/Carers,

    Sports Week
What a busy, fun filled week we have had! The children have taken part in many sporting events, culminating in our sports day today. They should be very proud of all their efforts. Thank you to Mrs Stainbank for organising the week.

     Summer Reading Challenge
Throughout June, the children enjoyed a visit to our local village library, where they heard about the Summer Reading Challenge.  This is a national challenge and encourages children to read over the summer holidays.  For every book they read, they receive a sticker in a special book folder.  If they receive 6 or more stickers, they will receive a reading medal.  Please visit your local library to sign up if you are not already a member, and to take part in the challenge.

    Early morning groups
Just a reminder that all Year 1 and Year 2 early morning groups have finished for the summer.

    Parent Survey
Please could we remind you to complete the survey that was sent out last week. The link is here.

County Transfer Day - Tuesday 1st July
Nursery please be reminded that Nursery is open however parents are expected to take their child/ren to their Reception class at the allocated time.

Current Reception and Year 1 children should attend as normal and will spend the morning in their new classes and meet their teachers.

Current Year 2 children will be visiting their new Junior schools on that day.
Any Year 2 children who do not have a transfer day to attend should not be in school on Tuesday 1st July. This will be recorded as an authorised absence day for all Year 2 children. If you have ordered a school lunch please cancel your selection from the Parentmail system.

    Open Evening for current pupils
We would like to invite you to the Infant School Open Evening on Tuesday 1st July.

This is very much an informal occasion where your child can show you their classroom and the work they have done through the year.

The times are 4.30pm - 5.30pm for Nursery and 5.00pm - 6.30pm for the main school.  Please feel free to pop in at a time which suits you. Can we please highlight that this is not a formal parents evening where you meet with the teacher, it is a celebration of all your child has achieved over the past year.

Police Resources for Parents of School Age Children
Matthew Barber (Police & Crime Commissioner for Thames Valley) has announced new resources available to councils, schools, parents and carers as part of his education strategy under the Violence Prevention Partnership programme (VPP).

The videos have been prepared using subject matter experts and are drawn from the lived experience of victims. They have been funded through the Violence Prevention Partnership and complement its offer for professionals and those working with young people:

    · Child Exploitation (bite-sized learning) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cS4-Fpm6OFM
    · Online Harm (bite-sized learning) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqWMgMX3ty8

Whilst the videos are relevant to anyone working with young people, they have been designed to be Thames Valley generic and primarily aimed at parents and carers of school aged children.
