Dear Parents/ Carers
We are excited to once again have the Travelling Books book fair coming to our school during the week starting Monday 10th November. This is always a great opportunity for the children to browse and buy new books from a variety of excellent authors. Each year group will have opportunities to visit the fair during the week and to purchase books.
We will be accepting cash payments for books. We ask that if you choose to do this, that all money is in a sealed envelope and that your child gives this to their class teacher for safekeeping before the fair.
It is also possible to pre-order vouchers to spend at the fair. Instructions on how to do this can be found here: https://bookfairs.scholastic.co.uk/travelling-books/parents#vouchers
Please note that we are not using any card payment systems but online payments can be made nearer the time of the fair using this link and searching for our school - https://bookfairs.scholastic.co.uk/travelling-books/pay. Once your child has chosen a book you can pay in the amount and this can be used for your child to collect the book from the book fair.
When purchases are made from the fair, the school also receives credit, which we can in turn spend on more books for your children! So please do support the book fair if you are able to do so.
The children will have two opportunities to visit the book fair which will be on different days of the week. Class teachers will remind children of the days they are visiting and will be encouraging children to browse before they buy.
We appreciate that it may not be possible to spare money to spend at the book fair. Class teachers will encourage children to write 'wish lists' to take home for future occasions e.g Christmas / Birthdays. We will also encourage each class to suggest their favourite book from the fair and we will see if we can purchase copies for our school library.
Furthermore, we also have trips to the village library for every year group this term, where we will encourage children to look for books they have seen at the fair.

Tuesday 2nd December - Year 4 to attend Songs of Praise service at village church (11:30am to 12 noon service – family and friends are invited to attend)
Wednesday 3rd December - Year 6 Dodgeball PE Festival during the afternoon - children to wear school PE kit today - will be early start for coach at 8:45am
Wednesday 3rd December - PTA Wreath making - all details and tickets available on Classlist - open to wider community use this LINK
Monday 8th and Tuesday 9th December - Year 6 SATS Practice sessions during the morning (No music lessons these mornings)
Friday 12th December - Christmas Jumper Charity Day – charity TBC
Monday 15th December - Christmas Parties (in year groups) – TBC
Friday 19th December - last day of term - early finish at 1:$5pm TBC
