Juniors - Weekly email - Friday 3rd March

Dear Parents / Carers

It was lovely to see all of the World Book Day costumes yesterday with lots of colourful and creative ideas on display. Thank you to everyone who brought in books this week for the book swap.

Thank you to Mr Grey who gave a fascinating assembly on Wednesday about his work with London Transport.

Chess tournament - last Sunday some of our children represented the school in the Bucks Youth Chess tournament, organized by Ray SayersThey came 5th out of the 10 school teams competing. Well done to everyone who took part.

Art competitions - congratulations to Aoife in Year 6. who is through to the final of the Young Arts Competition. Her artwork was selected as best in school for our school in the competition which is organised by Chiltern Fine Arts Society.

PTA Supermarket Voucher scheme - help is needed with running the Supermarket voucher scheme. The PTA are looking for a parent to take over running the supermarket voucher scheme. If you are interested please message the PTA via Classlist or if you email the school office we can pass a message on. If you have any questions about the scheme please do ask.

A few date changes:

The Year 3 assembly will now take place on Wednesday 22nd March - Year 3 Assembly starting at 9am in the Main Hall - this assembly will last about 30 minutes and Year 3 parents are invited to attend

The Year 4 assembly will now take place on Wednesday 3rd May - Year 4 Assembly starting at 9am in the Main Hall - this assembly will last about 30 minutes and Year 4 parents are invited to attend

Building work in school - After many years of petitioning the Local Authority to commit to making building improvements on the site we have been informed that two of the classrooms and the main hall will be having their windows replaced over the next two weeks. Whilst welcome, it will involve some of these spaces being unavailable as the work is completed. This particularly affects events that are scheduled to take place in the hall towards the end of the week meaning that gym club and street dance will be cancelled next week. We will also rearrange the date for parents of Oak class who were invited to next week’s achievement assembly.

Sports Leaders Clubs - these will be run by Year 6 for children in lower year groups  - children who have signed up will just need to bring trainers in on the day their club is running. Clubs will be from 12:20 until 12:45

  • Monday - Cheerleading - Mail Hall
  • Tuesday - Football - Field
  • Tuesday - Tennis - Main Hall
  • Wednesday - Just Dance & Dodge - Main Hall
