It has been lovely to see all of our returning children in school and to welcome all of our new joiners.
PE Days - children to come to school in school PE kit on their PE day
- Year 3 PE day is Friday on Friday 16th September. (After October half term Year 3 PE day will be Tuesday)
- Year 4 PE Day is Thursday starting on Thursday 22nd September
- Year 5 PE Day is Monday starting on Monday 12th September
- Year 6 PE Day is on Wednesday this term and lessons have already started
Reading Eggspress Logins - Over the next week your child will receive a login for our Reading Eggspress Scheme. Reading Eggspress is a fantastic program that motivates children and develops their reading skills. Your child will be able to access Reading Eggspress in school and at home. In Friday assembly we celebrate the children who have been regularly using the program by awarding a 'Reading Eggspress Reader of the week.
Here is a guide to the program. Please notify your child's class teacher if you wish their Placement Test to be reset.
Harvest Festival - there will be a Harvest Festival Service in school for the Junior children on 29th September (please note that this is for children only). We will be collecting food gifts to be shared between ‘All Together Community’ and the Chesham Food Bank. The items that they are requesting most for Harvest service collections are: UHT Milk, Cereal, Instant Coffee, Long life juice, Sponge puddings, Tinned custard, Soup and Sardines, Cooking Oil (1L), Personal toiletries and Nappies. Tinned or dried goods only please. If you are able to make any donations please can they be sent into school on Wednesday 28th September. There will be a collection box in the main entrance or children can give items to their class teacher.

Music lessons - further details of visiting music teachers are here
https://www.csgvillageschool.org/music-lessons/ - some teachers are still confirming lesson days and times. Piano, woodwind and string lessons will start the week of 19th September.
Staff car park - please do not use the staff car park when dropping off before 9am or when picking up at 3:30pm. If a parent or carer collecting children has a disability and needs to use the car park, please pass us their car details and ask them to display their blue badge when parking.

- Year 6 Secondary Transfer Testing / 11+ practice papers to be sat in school this morning - children taking test may come in from 8:30am

Handling Anger in the Family Parenting Course - A four-week course for parents and carers with children aged 5 -16 helping to deal with everyday anger that all families experience. Monday mornings (9.30am - 12 noon) OR Monday evenings (7.30pm - 10.00pm) starting on 19 September (19 & 26 Sept, 3 & 10 Oct) at The Saint James Centre, Oxford Road, Gerrards Cross, SL9 7DJ. Why come on the course?
- Learn strategies and discover practical tools to help respond to those challenging situations.
- Understand why and how both we and our children get angry.
