Junior - Weekly email - Friday 7th June

Dear Parents / Carers
 
We hope that Year 4 have enjoyed their trip to Woodrow this week. Thank you to the staff who have supported them. Wonderful weather and great food but we suspect that the children will sleep well tonight. The adults certainly will!

Year 6 have had a day's first aid training with the Child Matters company this week. We are grateful to the Misbourne Matins Rotary for their kind donation towards this training.
 
Good luck to Year 6 on the PGL adventure next week - we hope that you have good weather for your trip and are looking forward to hearing all about it when you get back.
 
Sustainability Survey - Attached is a letter with some information about a Sustainability Survey that is being run by one of our School Governors. Please take a moment to look at the survey on the link here
 
PTA Summer Raffle - the PTA will be sending home raffle tickets with children next week. This raffle will be drawn on Friday 12th July.

  • Reading in your child's class - parents are welcome to pop into class from 8:45am until 8:55am (gates will be open from 8:40am on Fridays)
  • Palm parents invited for Friday assembly - this assembly starts at 1:20pm and will be about 20 minutes - entrance is via Parsonage Road main gate only
  • 4pm today = deadline to submit comments on Year 3 to Year 4 and on Year 4 to Year 5 transitions for classes in September 2024

Tuesday 2nd July - County Transition Day / Transfer Day - Year 6 children will attend their new secondary school on this day.  No Year 6 children to be in school today
 
Tuesday 2nd July - Open Evening for parents of current children and children joining us in September 2024 - 6pm to 7:30pm
 
Tuesday 2nd July - Induction meeting for parents of new Year 3 children - in the Dining Hall starting at 7pm
 
Friday 5th July - Non Uniform day today as thanks for donating items for the PTA Tombola Stall - the PTA will be sending home pots to be filled for their tombola stall at the PTA Summer BBQ event and can pots be brought back into school today Friday 5th
 
Friday 5th July - PTA pre-loved uniform sale in the Dining Hall 3:30pm to 4pm
 
Friday 5th July - Oak parents invited for Friday assembly - this assembly starts at 1:20pm and will be about 20 minutes - entrance is via Parsonage Road main gate only
 
Monday 8th July - Guitar assembly in school with Mr Atkinson (for children only)
 
Tuesday 9th July - Year 3 Songs of Praise service at village church (11:30 to 12 service – family and friends are invited to attend)
 
Tuesday 9th July - Year 6 Dress Rehearsal production -  from 1:45pm-3pm - This will be for the Junior School children and for up to 2 adults, per Year 6 child, who cannot make the evening performance on the 10th July. Adults should arrive at the main entrance on Parsonage Road at 1:30. This is the only entrance that will be open at this time.
 
Wednesday 10th July - Year 6 Production - Evening performance from 6pm-7:30pm. Two tickets will be given to children nearer to the time. Please stick to only two people attending the performance as we are limited with space. There will be a waiting list for additional tickets – details of this will be shared nearer to the time.

Tuesday 23rd July - Year 6 Leavers Assembly morning - Year 6 parents/carers are warmly invited to attend
  • 9:30-10:30 Certificate assembly where we celebrate the achievements of Year 6. These will include a variety of awards including the citizenship awards, sports week awards, trip awards for example. Year 5 children will also attend this assembly.
  • 10:30-11:00 Tea and coffee break for parents
  • 11:00-12:20 Leavers assembly where we will be joined by the rest of the school
  • 12:30 Parents leave the school site
Tuesday 23rd July - Last day of school year - early finish at 2:15pm
