Junior - Weekly email - Friday 18th October

Dear Parents / Carers

We hope everyone enjoyed the surprisingly exuberant session with author Simon Stephenson on Tuesday. Thank you to Chiltern Bookshops and Mrs Franklin for arranging this interesting visit

This week our sports teams played an U11s Boys football match (lost 2-2 on penalties), an U11s girls football match and a netball match against Butlers Court. Good luck to our U11 boys team at the District Qualifiers match at Thorpe House tomorrow.

Odd Socks Day - we are supporting the Anti Bullying Alliances Odd Sock Day again this year and we are looking forward to seeing lots of wonderful brightly coloured socks in school on Tuesday 12th November. There are more details about the Anti Bullying Awareness Week on their website here https://anti-bullyingalliance.org.uk/anti-bullying-week/odd-socks-day Please note this is an awareness day only and not a fundraising event. During the week of 11th to 15th November, the children will talk about how to address bullying and the importance of the 'Stand up, Speak out' approach.  We will also be using resources from the NSPCC to help the children stay safe and know where to seek help.

PTA Smarties challenge - next week the PTA will be sending home a tube of Smarties for every child in school. In return, they are asking them to fill their tubes with money they earn from doing chores or good deeds. The tubes are ideal for placing 20p coins into for each chore that they do or notes if they do an amazing job. The money filled Smartie tubes should be returned to their classrooms by Friday 8th November. The class that raises the most will be announced in assembly and given a prize. Ideas for chores include; hoovering, loading the dishwasher, emptying the bin, tidying a bedroom, making their bed, laying the table etc. The PTA hope you enjoy the help at home and can support the children and our  fundraising. Many thanks, Junior School PTA

PTA Hot Dog lunch on Thursday 7th November - a reminder that the deadline for ordering a hot dog lunch with the PTA is Friday 25th October. See Classlist for details. If your child is entitled to Free School Meals you should have received a separate order form via the school office.

Energy Audit - We are looking to commission an energy audit for the school to support our commitment towards sustainability. If you are able to help with this, please would you contact the school office. Thank you

School lunch orders on ParentMail - please remember to place any school meal orders for after half term (w/c Tuesday 5th November) by Monday 28th October.

CSG Community LIbrary - after half term children will be visiting the CSG Community Library and children with library cards will be able to borrow a book. You can apply for a library card using this form or online via Bucks LIbrary service website here

Our School Amazon Wish List - for any gifts, it is always lovely to know who has donated items so we can thank you properly! The link to the gift list can be found here https://amzn.eu/fVdAqFF.
