Junior - Weekly email - Friday 11th November

Dear Parents / Carers
 
Thank you to Mrs Mannick for organising the school book fair this week. Funds raised from the sale of these books will be used to buy books for use in school.
 
Smarties Challenge - congratulations to Ash class who won the PTA Smarties Challenge. Thank you to everyone who supported this fundraiser.
 

Autumn SEN Reviews and Parent Voice questionnaire - an email has gone out today to parents of children on the SEN register - please look out for the email and do let us know if you have not received it. 

 
Parking - we have had a complaint about the parking on Parsonage Road where driveways have been blocked at pick up time.  Please avoid driving up Parsonage Road and do not park on this road for dropping off and picking up from school. Thank you to those parking at the playing fields and considerately around the village.
 
Christmas Lunch - St Joseph's Kitchen have confirmed that our Christmas Lunch day will be Wednesday 7th December. Menu details are on the website here and have been added to ParentMail for you to place orders. On Wednesday 14th December St Josephs will be providing a simpler lunch as they will be making Christmas meals for other schools that day.
 
Bucks School Bus Consultation - details of the consultation on Bucks Council's proposed changes to home to school transport from September 2023 are available here
 
School Photo orders - contact sheets were sent home with children this week and an email with ordering details was sent to parents. Order online by Thursday 17th November for FREE delivery to the school (items will be delivered on 2nd December). Orders after the cut-off date will incur a P&P charge.
 
Affinity Water Roadworks on Deanway - we have been advised that there will be traffic lights on the Deanway on Friday 18th November, between Hillside Close and Milton's Cottage

  • Odd Socks Day - we are supporting the Anti Bullying Alliances Odd Sock Day again this year and we are looking forward to seeing lots of wonderful brightly coloured socks in school. 
  • Year 5 PE Day - children to come to school in school PE Kit - Year 5 children will be taking part in a tennis taster session at CSG Tennis club during their PE lesson today
  • Year 4 starting recorder lessons this week
  • Music lessons - Piano lessons with Ms Cicvarova, BMT - morning in the music room
  • School run lunchtime club - Benchball Club with Miss Balaam in the Main Hall for Year 5 children
  • Music lessons - Guitar lessons with Mr Norton, BMT - afternoon in the Music Room
  • External club - Chess club in the Art Room from 3:30pm to 4:30pm - pick up from outside the Art Room 
  • External club - Tennis club on the Upper playground from 3:30pm to 4:30pm - pickup from Upper / Top playground 
  • Parents evening for all parents (not Ash class) from 3:40pm to 6pm - details here - all gates will be open for these sessions

 

Tuesday 15th November 
  • Early Birds Breakfast Club in the ATA Room from 8am to 8:45am - this club is for invited children only - entrance via main Parsonage Road gate
  • Morning Maths Club in the ICT Suite from 8:15am to 8:45am - this club is for invited children only - entrance via main Parsonage Road gate
  • Year 3 PE day -  children to come to school in school PE Kit - Year 3 Oak Class children will be taking part in a tennis taster session at CSG Tennis club during their PE lesson today
  • Music lessons - Piano and Woodwind lessons with Mrs Wayman, BMT - in the Music Room
  • Reading Club with Mrs Mannick in the library - all welcome from 12:50pm to 1:15pm
  • Rocky Road Club with Mrs Rock & Mr Shankland for invited Year 3 & 4 children - in the ATA room from 3:30pm to 4:30pm
  • Cookery Club with Smart Raspberry in the Dining Hall from 3:30pm to 4:30pm

 

Wednesday 16th November

  • Acacia class swimming today - please remember swimming costumes, towels and goggles - letter here and google form here - donations towards costs can be made via Parentmail
  • Music lessons - Drum lessons with MD Drumlab - in the Music Room - additional session
  • Football Club with Mr O'Sullivan in the Main Hall / Top Field - please remember football kit and boots / shinpads - Year 5 & 6 from 3:45 to 4:45pm
  • Tag Rugby Club with Mr Ballard on the Upper Playground - please remember sports kit and trainers - Year 3 & 4 from 3:30 to 4:30pm (note earlier finish for the remainder of the term)

  • Music lessons - Violin lessons with Mrs Priestley, BMT - in the Music Room
  • Lego Club with Mrs Baker in Acer Class - all year groups from 12:20pm to 12:50pm
  • Dodgeball Club with Mrs Spencer in the Main Hall - for Year 6 from 12:20pm to 12:50pm
  • Music lessons - Cello lessons with Mrs Bignall, BMT - in the Music Room
  • Homework club - in IT Suite for invited pupils - 3:30pm to 4:30pm - pick up from Dining Hall
  • Football Club with PFO - on the School Field / Main Hall from 3:45pm to 4:45pm

Chiltern Toy Bank is open to help needy families in the Chiltern District Council area this Christmas. Details are on their attached flyer - they are looking for donations of good quality pre-loved toys. If you know of any families needing support please encourage them to register with the Toy Bank on their website: www.chilterntoybank.org between 1st November and 25th November.
