Junior - Weekly email - Friday 10th March

Dear Parents / Carers

Thank you to the village library for opening specially for our children to visit them - the children are enjoying these special opening times.

Well done to the Year 4 team that attended the Davenies Football Festival on Tuesday. The organisers described the afternoon as "a feast of fabulous football and even some sunshine."

The U11s football team lost their cup game against Butlers Court last Friday - losing 3-0. The teams were very evenly matched but the home side proved to be stronger on the day. Congratulations to the team for reaching this stage of the cup.

Message from Donna Westall, Chair of Governors - following the request for a nomination to the role of parent governor, Hemal Pandya, an Infant school parent, was the only candidate and so has been elected unopposed.  We are really pleased that he has joined the Governing Board and welcome him to the team.

Behaviour of siblings / younger children at pickup time - we ask that you keep an eye on any children in your charge whilst they are on the school premises at drop off and pickup times. They should not be going into classrooms before the end of the school day or knocking on doors and windows when lessons are still in progress. Many thanks for your support.

Head lice - we are aware of some cases of head lice in school. Please remember to check your child's hair regularly and treat it if needed. Please  ensure that long hair is tied back

Building work in school - the new doors and windows have been fitted in Acer class and look fantastic. Next week work will continue to take place in the Main Hall and Ash classroom. Some of the lunchtime sports leaders clubs will be affected during the early part of the week. Work is planned to start in Ash class on Tuesday and children will be asked to go to the Main Hall for morning registration. Pick up will be from the playground as normal

Year 3 Library visit on Thursday 16th - Oak class will be visiting the library on Thursday afternoon and we are looking to reschedule a visit for Ash class in the summer term

Year 5 - sadly the Tag Rugby PE festival  has been cancelled and we do not think this will be rescheduled. Year 5 children to come in normal uniform please and they can have a school meal as usual on Thursday 16th

Year 5 - we are still looking for a couple of parent helpers with DBSs to help on the Churches trip on Monday 27th March. Please speak to your class teacher or email the school office if you are able to help.

Year 6 - Year 6 PE will be on Monday next week due to the Family Day activities on Friday 17th March
