Junio r- Weekly email - Friday 22nd November

Dear Parents / Carers

Thank you to the CSG Community Library for opening their doors to our Year 3 and Year 4 children. We hope that children enjoyed their exclusive access to the library and found some fabulous books to borrow. Year 5 and 6 have their visits next week.

Well done to Year 6 for completing the cross country course at Amersham on Wednesday on a very cold day!

Open Morning - we have added an extra open day session for prospective parents on Wednesday 11th December - details here. Please email the school office to book a place on a tour. Tours at 10am and 11am and Headteachers presentation at 10:30am

After school football and netball clubs - please note that the school run football and netball clubs will be finishing a little earlier at 4:30pm going forward as it is getting dark in the evenings now. PFO is not changing.

Parking - a Parking Letter and an updated Parking Agreement have been sent out this week

Christmas Lunch will be served on Wednesday 4th December - please order as normal on ParentMail by Monday 25th November - the menu is available here

Pencil cases and equipment - children in Year 4, 5 and 6 are expected to have the following items in pencil cases:

2 pencils
a pencil sharpener
a rubber
a pen - (if your child has their pen licence)
a purple pen/pencil
a glue stick
a whiteboard pen
a ruler
a pair of scissors

Music assemblies dates confirmation. Parents of players are invited to attend and entrance is via the main Parsonage Road entrance for these assemblies:

Friday 29th November - 1:20pm to 2:40pm - Drumming assembly
Thursday 5th December - from 10:40am to 10:55am - a combined woodwind, piano and string assembly with Mrs Wayman and Mrs Priestley's pupils
Tuesday 10th December from 10:40am to 10:55am - Guitar assembly

Library volunteers - now that the school library is up and running, we would like to open it up at lunchtimes for the children to use and enjoy. We would be really grateful for any volunteers (with a current school DBS) who may be able to give up 30 mins of their time each week to open the library and to check books in and out. We would like to be able to open the library between 12:50 and 1:15pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Please contact the office if you would be interested in this role. Mrs Franklin

Year 3 Egyptian Day- many thanks to those of you who have made a contribution towards the cost of the Portals to the Past Egyptian workshop. We can confirm that this will take place on Thursday 12th December. We do still have a slight shortfall of £30 for the costs of this day so if you are able to make a donation please could you do so on ParentMail. Thank you.

Menu update - St Joseph's kitchen has informed us that our bread supplier has updated us with an ingredient change to the bread rolls for Week 2. Allergens are: GLUTEN, SOYA - further allergens info is on the website here.

Emails to school - the school office receives a lot of emails each day and it would really help us if you could include a subject line and give your child's name and class in the email. That would really help us to pass your message on to the correct member of staff. Many thanks.
