Infant - Weekly Email - Friday 3rd November

Dear Parent/Carer,

 
It has been lovely having the children back in school this week.
 
Children Starting School or Moving up to Junior School - September 2024
The portal to apply for a place through Buckinghamshire Council opened on the 1st November 2023 and closes for online applications on the 15th January 2024.
 
Poppy Appeal 
Some of our Year 2 children will be selling poppies at school next week. If you wish your child to purchase a poppy please send them to school with a suggested donation of £1.

 

Community & Cultural Events

Chiltern Toy Bank is open to help families in the Chiltern District Council area who need some additional help this Christmas. Details are on their attached flyer - they are looking for donations of good quality pre-loved toys. If you know of any families needing support please encourage them to register with the Toy Bank on their website: www.chilterntoybank.org between 31st October and 20th November.
 
PTA updates
  • Spooky bake sale - thanks for the support we hope you enjoyed! Our awesome bakers raised £312 for the school.
  • Smarties challenge - if you haven’t already, please pass to the teachers early next week. An envelope (with child name and class) is fine if the smarties tube didn’t make it! Don’t forget gift aid declaration as we can claim an extra 25%. Winning class to be announced next week.
  • We’ve set a ‘November parents challenge’ for a chance to win up to £50 voucher, see Classlist post and sign up to easyfundraising.
  • Look out on Classlist for dates for preloved uniform drop off and planned sale.

 

Future PTA key dates
  • 19th November - deadline to order tickets for our Christmas shopping event, where the children will choose their own gifts for family members (£3) and pets (£2.50) see Classlist event to order.
  • 30th November - collect elf arrival / Christmas countdown balloons. Additional opportunity for limited orders will be up on Classlist soon.
  • 2nd December - village lights switch on, the PTA will have a stall selling cakes, sweets and Christmas bits!
