Infant - Weekly Email - Friday 2nd February

Dear Parents/Carers,

Mrs Moore
Sadly, today is Mrs Moore's last day with us! Mrs Moore has worked in Year 1 and 2 over the last two academic years, impacting and making a difference with a number of children. We will miss her greatly as she moves to a new role at Chesham Grammar School and I am sure you will want to join us in wishing her the best of luck for the future and thank her for all of her hard work during her time at the school.

Mathseeds
Well done to all the children who have logged onto Mathseeds this week. The class who spent the most minutes on Mathseeds is Ruby class so a huge well done to all of you! The children who have spent the most time using it from each class this week are:

Emerald - Oliver and Florence
Ruby - Kairon and Henry
Amethyst - Emily and Immy
Diamond - Bea and Louie

Found Lanyard
A lanyard with the name Rebecca on it was found in the staff car park. If it is yours please come to the school office to collect it, informing us of the additional name on the lanyard.

PTA Updates
  • We held our first PTA meeting of the term last week. Event planning is underway, including for the Strawberry Fayre. Help is always welcome so do let the PTA know if you can help in anyway.
  • Please see the attachment to this email on how we are distributing PTA funds for this academic year. If you have any ideas for how you would like PTA funds to be spent, the form for you to register your ideas is on the PTA page (at the bottom) on the school website.
  • Mother's Day gift event and Breakfast Cafe - in conjunction with the Family Day at the school the PTA will have a breakfast cafe in the Memorial Hall and running a gift shop for children to choose gifts for anyone special they want to celebrate this Mother's Day.
  • We are still collecting unwanted, unopened gifts and good quality toys for our future events. Clear out before half term - bring to wet weather shelter next Friday at drop-off and pick up.
  • Do you have any connections to businesses or companies who might like to offer sponsorship or prizes for our Strawberry Fayre? We give full credit and advertising in return. Speak to someone on the PTA or email csginfpta.treasurer@gmail.com

Future PTA key dates

Last chance - get your brush party tickets now

The Junior School and Infants PTA have joined forces to arrange a night of painting and Prosecco on Friday 1st March at the Junior School.

First drink and nibbles are included in the £35 ticket, plus all painting supplies and expert tuition from the team at Brush Party.

You don’t have to have any artistic talent at all (we promise!) just follow the step by step guidance and slap a load of paint on the canvas and somehow a masterpiece will emerge. We guarantee you will surprise yourself!

We need to confirm whether we’re going ahead this term or moving the event, so please buy tickets ASAP this week. Go to the events page on Classlist to buy your tickets.

Buckinghamshire Council Energy Doctor Scheme

Buckinghamshire Council have a face-to-face service, called the Domestic Resource Efficiency Service (Energy Doctor Scheme) that can help low-income households in Buckinghamshire with advice and measures to reduce their household energy use and, subsequently, their bills.

Energy Doctors can advise on ways that eligible households can reduce energy consumption and costs and put in place suitable low-cost easy retrofit resource efficiency (LCERRE) measures.

To qualify for a visit to your home, you must meet all of the following criteria:

  • rent the property through a private rental agreement, or own and live in the property
  • household has an income of £30,000 or less (before tax), is in receipt of means tested benefits such as Universal Credit and Council Tax Support, or a member of the household is disabled
  • the domestic property has an energy performance certificate (EPC) rating of D, E, F or G, or does not legally require an EPC

The Energy Doctor will prioritise visits for those who meet these eligibility criteria and live in the Opportunity Bucks areas.
How to make a referral - Please contact Better Housing Better Health in the first instance who can assess eligibility for an Energy Doctor visit and other services.
