Infant - Weekly Email - Friday 11th November

Dear Parent/Carer,

Odd Socks Day
We are supporting the Anti Bullying Alliances Odd Sock Day again this year and we are looking forward to seeing lots of wonderful brightly coloured socks in school on Monday 14th November. There are more details about the Anti Bullying Awareness Week on their website here https://anti-bullyingalliance.org.uk/anti-bullying-week/odd-socks-day Please note this is an awareness day only and not a fundraising event. During the week, the children will talk about how to address bullying and the importance of the 'Stand up, Speak out' approach.  We will also be using resources from the NSPCC to help the children stay safe and know where to seek help.

School Open Day
We have an open day taking place on Thursday, 17th November. If you know of anyone interested in a place at our school please ask them to contact the school office to arrange a tour.

New Governor
Mr Clive Jones, an Infant School parent, was elected unopposed to be our new Parent Governor. Thank you to him for stepping forward to take on this role.

Break Time
Please can we remind parents that any food brought in for break time must be a piece of fruit or a vegetable. The children should not bring in fruit winders, biscuits or sweets.

Thread worms
There has been a case of thread worms in school so please click on the NHS web page for all the relevant information.  If you notice your child has been infected, please treat him or her as soon as possible.

Christmas Lunch
St Joseph's will be supplying Christmas lunch for the children on Wednesday 7th December.  This will replace the normal meal for that day.   The following Wednesday 14th, the menu will be simplified as St Joe's will be cooking Christmas lunches to other schools they supply.  All the new details will be added to ParentMail showing the changes and allergen list is attached to this email.
Christmas menu 7th Dec : Roast turkey with pigs in blankets or vegan sausage roll, served with roast potatoes, farmhouse vegetables and gravy followed by chocolate Malteser reindeer
Menu for 14th Dec : Pasta with tomato sauce or baked potatoes with cheese and beans, served with vegetables & salad followed by fruit yogurts
