Dear Parents/Carers
The week after half term (week commencing 5th November) we are excited to once again have the Travelling Books book fair coming to our school. This is always a great opportunity for the children to browse and buy new books from a variety of excellent authors. Each year group will have opportunities to visit the fair during the week and to purchase books.
We will be accepting cash payments for books. We ask that if you choose to do this, that all money is in a sealed envelope and that your child gives this to their class teacher for safekeeping before the fair.
Please note that we are not using any card payment systems.
When purchases are made from the fair, the school also receives vouchers, which we can in turn spend on more books for your children! So please do support the book fair if you are able to do so.
The children will have two opportunities to visit the book fair which will be on different days of the week. Therefore if any money or vouchers to buy books is brought in on Tuesday 5th November, then this will ensure your child has their money ready for their slot. Class Teachers will remind children of the days they are visiting.
We appreciate that it may not be possible to spare money to spend at the book fair. Class teachers will encourage children to write 'wish lists' to take home for future occasions e.g Christmas / Birthdays. We will also encourage each class to suggest their favourite book from the fair and we will see if we can purchase copies for our school library.
Furthermore, we also have trips to the village library for every year group this month, where we will encourage children to look for books they have seen at the fair.
Finally, we have the whole school free book event to look forward to later in the year.
