Junior - Weekly email - Friday 26th September

Dear Parents / Carers
 
We hope that the football teams who had tournaments this week enjoyed the matches. Next week sees the start of the netball season. Good luck to all of our teams who are playing in leagues and competitions this term
 
Parents evening dates - due to diary clashes we have had to rearrange a couple of the parent evening meeting dates. Booking details for the November sessions will be sent home before half term
 
Autumn Term 2025
  • Thursday 6th November 2025 (5pm to 8pm)
  • Monday 17th November 2025 (3:40pm to 6:10pm) - new date
Spring Term 2026
  • Monday 9th March 2026 (3:40pm to 6:10pm)

Finance Parent Information meeting - sign up here for this online meeting for parents regarding school finance on Tuesday 30th September at 7pm. This meeting will cover school funding plus SEND funding at a local and national level.
 
Juniors Attendance for the last 7 days (Thurs-Thurs) = 96.3%. Juniors Attendance Year to date = 96.5%
 
Secondary school open day visits - we have recently been informed that we can only authorise absences for visits to open day events if we know about these in advance. You just need to drop an email to the office to let us know. If we don't know in advance then these will be recorded as unauthorised as we can't authorise visits retrospectively.
 
Swimming lessons - just to clarify suitable swimwear is a one piece costume for girls and baggy style trunks for boys. Bikinis are not allowed for these swimming lessons. Thank you

Harvest Festival donations - we are once again supporting the Parish Church in collecting items for their Harvest Festival. Donated items will be shared between the AllTogether Community Initiative in the village and The Chiltern Foodbank. Donations of tinned or long life foods can be dropped off in the collection boxes outside the school office  (dining hall side) on Monday 29th or Tuesday 30th September 
 
Specific food requested: Tinned fruit • Tinned meat • Tinned vegetables • Tinned custard • Tinned bolognese • Personal toiletries • Rice (500g) • Sardines • UHT milk • Long life juice • Instant coffee 

 

School lunch orders - please remember to take a moment to talk to your children about lunch orders. We have had a few children recently not wanting what has been ordered for them and we can't always accommodate changes when they come to collect their food.

  • Year 5 Beech class swimming lessons start today - children to wear PE kit and to bring in swimming kit with towels & goggles if required - details here
  • Tennis club with Mark Schofield on Top PLayground from 3:30pm to 4:30pm
  • Year 5 & 6 Girls Football Club with Mr O'Sullivan on the School Field - children change in Beech class - football boots & shin pads plus football kit or PE kit - from 3:30pm to 4:45pm
 
Thursday 2nd October
  • Gym Club (Before School) with Springbucks in the Main hall - from 7:45am to 8:45am - entrance via Parsonage Road entrance only
  • Year 4 PE day today - children to come to school in school PE Kit
  • Music lessons - Piano and Woodwind lessons with Mrs Wayman, BMT- in the Music Room at the start of the day
  • Music lessons -  Strings lessons with Mrs Priestley, BMT- in the Music Room
  • Lego club with Mrs Baker in Acer Class - a drop in club for all children (numbers permitting on any given day from 12:20pm to 12:50pm
  • Art club with Mrs Starrs - Year 6 in the Art Room from 12:45 to 1:15pm
  • Year 5 & 6 Football Club with Mr Holmes on the School  Field / Main Hall - football boots & shin pads plus football kit or PE kit (change in Main Hall) - from 3:30pm to 4:45pm - pick up from the back of the Main Hall
  • Girls football away match against Seer Green School details will be sent to selected team - manager Mr O'Sullivan - starts at 3:45pm (early pick up of players from school office at 3:20pm please)
 
Friday 3rd October
  • Early doors opening - parents are welcome to pop into class, to read with your child or look at work books, from 8:45am until 8:55am (gates will be open from 8:40am on Fridays)
  • Year 6 PE day today - children to come to school in school PE Kit
  • Music lessons - Piano and Woodwind lessons with Mrs Wayman, BMT - in the Music Room at the start of the day
  • Music lessons - Drum lessons with Teach me Drums - in the Music Room during the day
  • Table tennis club with Mr O'Sullivan - for invited Year 3 children in the Main Hall from 12:20pm to 12:50pm
  • Dance Club with Pips Dance Academy in the Main Hall from 3:30pm to 4:15pm - open to all hear groups - pick up from Main Hall
