Junior - Weekly email - Friday 23rd May

Dear Parents / Carers,

After a busy half term we hope that everyone has a great half term break.

It was lovely to see lots of family members in school today and thank you to the PTA for running their excellent cafe.

We had lots of enthusiastic walkers for our sponsored walk this afternoon. We are raising funds for a range of school needs this year, for music, computing, history, geography and also for the library. With your kind support we aim to purchase resources such as dataloggers, timelines and new bookshelves for part of the library in order to enhance our children’s education. Tally sheets will be sent home after half term and donations may be paid in via ParentMail. You can add GiftAid to this donation as well. Look for the payment item Sponsored Walk4School 2025.

Year 6 helpers are requested for the Infant School Strawberry Fayre that is taking place on Saturday 7th June - if any Year 6s are able to help during the afternoon please contact the Infant Office on infantoffice@csgvllageschool.org and they will pass messages on to the Infant School PTA. The Strawberry Fayre is open between 11.30 and 3.30 so the PTA are looking for helpers between those times. Many thanks

Book sales this term:
  • Wednesday 2nd July - there will be a pre-loved book sale run by some of our Year 6 children. Books will be 50p each and any funds raised will be used to buy new reading books for the school. We are still accepting donations of good quality children's books in the office if you have any to pass on
  • Monday 7th to Friday 12th July - we will be having a Scholastic Book Fair in school - more details to follow.

Lost property -  We have a lot of items in our lost property box in the dining hall. Unfortunately the majority of these items are not named or the name is not legible. We understand how frustrating it is when children lose items so when possible we do check the lost property so we can return any items to their owner. It would be of great help if you could label all school uniform items, and water bottles, and check that your child comes home with their own clothing. You are also more than welcome to come in and check the lost property box.

Our School Amazon Wish List - link to the Junior School gift list can be found here https://amzn.eu/fVdAqFF. We have added a few DT items recently.
