Infant - Weekly Email - Friday 25th April

Dear Parents/Carers,

We hope you had a great Easter break and had some lovely family time. It has been so good to have the children back at school, ready to learn, full of smiles and energy.

Science Week
The children had a fantastic time during Science Week and have taken part in lots of great activities with the theme 'Change and Adapt'. They also enjoyed the opportunity to visit different classes and teachers across the school. The week culminated in the science shows led by an excellent practitioner from Science Oxford. The show (one for each Infant School year group) was called Amazing Animals where the children learnt all about animal groups and how they adapt to their habitats. Thank you to everyone who donated and a particular thanks to those of you who gave additional money towards this event.

Science Challenge
The children have been given their certificates for completing the Spring Science Challenge. If your child completed this and has not received a certificate please let Mrs Mannion know via the school office. There was a great response with around 40 submissions! The projects are on display both in the shared area by Year 2 and on the window sill opposite Mr Haywood's office. Well done to all the children who took part.

Nursery Gate
Please remember to close the Nursery gate as you come in and out of the playground at drop off and pick up.  Please put the chain over the gate post to ensure that children can not leave the playground unless they have their adult with them to keep them safe.  Please can you also talk to your child about this so they understand the importance of being safe and staying with their adult.
