    Dear Parents/Carers,

     
    Mathseeds
    It is fantastic to see the children logging onto Mathseeds this week and completing so many lessons!  The class who completed the most lessons on Mathseeds is Pearl class, with Sapphire close in second place - well done to you all! The children who have completed the most lessons this week are:

    Maths Story Books
    We would like to continue with a maths focused story time once a week to help children embed key skills through stories. We started this last year and it has been working brilliantly but would now like to build up some more books if possible. If you would like to help the school and donate a book, please click on the link below and then hand the books into the office for the attention of Mrs Ketley:Thank you!

    Dear Parents / Carers
     
    Well done to Year 6 for coping with SATS and Mini Enterprise activities this week. Hopefully the Dragons were friendly in the Dragons Den this afternoon and that production on sale items can begin.
     
    Netball report - more great games of netball from the CSG year 5 and 6s. Results as follows: Year 6 (captain Bella B) Match 1 - won 11-1, player of the match was Bella B. Match 2 - won 16-2, player of the match was Izzy M. Year 5 (captain Emma N)
    Match 1 - lost 11-2, player of the match was Ellie N. Match 2 - won 5-3, player of the match was Esmé F. Fabulous sportsmanship and great game play by both teams. Thank you to Mrs Fraschi and Mr Ballard for managing these teams.
     
    PTA Colour Run tomorrow - thank you to the PTA for putting on the Colour Run tomorrow. It has been a lot of work for you but hopefully it will be a great afternoon.
     
    Newsletter layout - we are trying to streamline the weekly email as it is getting very long. As part of this streamlining information about regular clubs and music lessons will not be included in the daily listing but any changes during the week will still be noted in the weekly email.

    Friday 5th July - Oak parents invited for Friday assembly - this assembly starts at 1:20pm and will be about 20 minutes - entrance is via Parsonage Road main gate only

    Tuesday 9th July - Year 6 Dress Rehearsal production -  from 1:45pm-3pm - This will be for the Junior School children and for up to 2 adults, per Year 6 child, who cannot make the evening performance on the 10th July. Adults should arrive at the main entrance on Parsonage Road at 1:30. This is the only entrance that will be open at this time.

    Wednesday 10th July - Year 6 Production - Evening performance from 6pm-7:30pm. Two tickets will be given to children nearer to the time. Please stick to only two people attending the performance as we are limited with space. There will be a waiting list for additional tickets – details of this will be shared nearer to the time.

    • 9:30-10:30 Certificate assembly where we celebrate the achievements of Year 6. These will include a variety of awards including the citizenship awards, sports week awards, trip awards for example. Year 5 children will also attend this assembly.
    • 10:30-11:00 Tea and coffee break for parents
    • 11:00-12:20 Leavers assembly where we will be joined by the rest of the school
    • 12:30 Parents leave the school site.

    Dear Parents/Carers,

     
    Nursery visited the Chiltern Open Air Museum on Tuesday and had a fun filled day in the sunshine. Thank you to the parent helpers and to the nursery team, the children had a wonderful time.
     
    Mathseeds
    There have been many more children logging onto Mathseeds this week which is fantastic to see.     PTA Updates
    • Strawberry Fayre Volunteers - we need volunteers (thanks to those who have stepped forward!) 
    • Strawberry Fayre General
      • Please see the donation post on Classlist. We can collect every Friday at drop-off and every Monday at pick up in the run up to half term.
      • Raffle tickets are out in book bags - if you need more please ask a member of the PTA, class mum or comment on the Classlist post. All sold stubs and monies (as well as any unsold tickets) to be put in the PTA box near school office. 
      • Pre-Sales - look out next week on classlist for pre-sales opening for food, kids critters tickets and wristbands
    • Father's Day - there will be a cafe and gift shop in the Memorial Hall from 08.15. Some lovely gifts will be on sale at the cafe (see attached picture)
      • Any volunteers please for the Father's Day Cafe, making tea/ coffee and serving cakes. Please message Infant PTA or join the WhatsApp

    Dear Parents / Carers

     

    We hope that everyone enjoyed the Interhouse Diamond Cricket yesterday morning. Thank you to Mr O'Sullivan and the Amersham School Sports Partnership for running this event. 
     
    It has been a colourful day in school today with lots of fabulous costumes for the Walk4Art Sponsored walk today. Your support and your donations for this event are very much appreciated.
     
    Thank you to the PTA for providing the hot dog lunch yesterday.


    Year 6 SATS next week - there will be an Early Morning Social Club for Year 6 on the mornings of the tests (Monday to Thursday). This will begin at 8.35am in Acacia class and we would like to invite the children in as close to this time as possible. They will be given a drink and a biscuit and will have the chance to chat with their friends and relax before we begin each morning. Entrance via Parsonage Road gate only at this time

    Music lessons - no music lessons during the mornings Monday to Thursday this week due to SATS - regular timetable is here

     
    Lost property - there are a lot of unnamed hoodies and jumpers in the lost property box in the dining hall this week

    Illness
    Please be reminded that if your child is unwell and needs calpol to alleviate symptoms such as a temperature, they should stay off school that day. Thank you for your support.
     
    Mathseeds

    Please also note that on Wednesday 22nd May the Memorial Hall is not availble for school lunch so the children will be having a picnic lunch.  The menu on ParentMail has been changed accordingly for you to order sandwiches.
     

    PTA updates

    • Strawberry Fayre - we need volunteers - we can't run it without you!  
      • Thank you to all the volunteers who have signed up for their class stalls. It's only 1 hour on the day. Look for the sign-up list for your class under Classlist events.
      • If you can offer more time, help set up / clear up, please join the WhatsApp community or the Friends of the PTA chat or message Infant PTA.
      • We are looking for donations. Unopened gifts and bottles for adult and child tombola, good quality toys, and party bag surplus for prizes. Please get them ready we will start collecting next week.
    • We had our termly PTA meeting this morning with Mrs Mannion. We're hoping to have a few teachers in the stocks for a good soaking at the Strawberry Fayre! But we agreed some of the upcoming events and discussed funding.
    • We need some Dads to volunteer for the Father's Day Cafe so Mums can do the card making. Please message Infant PTA.

    Dear Parents / Carers
     
    It has been a busy week in school. We hope that everyone has enjoyed taking part in the two PE Festivals, netball match, football festival and planetarium visit, all of which were fitted in this week despite the mixed weather.
     
    Year 2 / 3 transition week - in June there will be a transition week to give the Year 2 children a chance to visit our Year 3 classes during the mornings - a copy of the information letter sent to the Year 2 parents is available here 
     
    Year 3 visit to Milton's Cottage - On Tuesday 14th May Year 3 will be visiting Milton's Cottage in the village during the afternoon - we will need three parent helpers for this visit. If you are able to help with this visit please contact the school office
     
    Year 3 Woodrow Trip in July - details of this day trip have been sent out this week. We will need some parent helpers for this day trip so if you are able to help then please can you contact the School Office or speak to your class teacher. Thank you.
     
    Year 5 PE Festival on Monday 13th May - we still need 3 parent helpers to make this trip possible - if you are able to help please can you contact the school office or your class teacher. Thank you
     
    Interhouse Day on Thursday 9th May - children will be taking part in a sporting competition in house teams on Thursday. Please can all children come into school wearing PE kit with house coloured TShirts. (House Colours for T-Shirts are Air / Blue, Earth / Green, Fire / Red, Water / Yellow)
     
    Netball match reports against Butlers Court - U11s won 8-4, player of the match Evie S and U11/U10 mix lost 6-2, player of the match Belle S. Both teams played really well against two very strong teams and should be very proud of the results

    Tuesday 9th July - Year 6 Dress Rehearsal production -  from 1:45pm-3pm - This will be for the Junior School children and for up to 2 adults, per Year 6 child, who cannot make the evening performance on the 10th July. Adults should arrive at the main entrance on Parsonage Road at 1:30. This is the only entrance that will be open at this time.

    Wednesday 10th July - Year 6 Production - Evening performance from 6pm-7:30pm. Two tickets will be given to children nearer to the time. Please stick to only two people attending the performance as we are limited with space. There will be a waiting list for additional tickets – details of this will be shared nearer to the time.

    • 9:30-10:30 Certificate assembly where we celebrate the achievements of Year 6. These will include a variety of awards including the citizenship awards, sports week awards, trip awards for example. Year 5 children will also attend this assembly.
    • 10:30-11:00 Tea and coffee break for parents
    • 11:00-12:20 Leavers assembly where we will be joined by the rest of the school
    • 12:30 Parents leave the school site.
