  • Infant - Weekly Email - Friday 24th November

Fri 24 Nov 2023 CSG Infant School

    Dear Parent/Carer,

    CSG library visits
Years 1 & 2 enjoyed visiting the library in the village this week. They learnt about how all of the books are organised into sections and then listened to some lovely stories read by the volunteers.

Children have brought home sign up leaflets for any families who would like to join the library and get a library card.  If you did not receive one but would like to join the library, please speak to your child’s class teacher or Mrs Bannister at morning drop off.

Reception will be visiting the library on Tuesday next week (28th).

    Mrs Bannister
    Reading coordinator

Email messages - please can you give your child's full name and class when sending in messages to the office. It really helps us to ensure they go to the correct teacher. Thank you

  • *******URGENT - NURSERY CLOSURE******

Fri 17 Nov 2023 CSG Infant School

    Dear Parents

Despite our best intentions, the nursery will be closed on Monday due to a water leak discovered this evening. This has resulted in the nursery and hall areas having no water services. We have contacted Property Services at Buckinghamshire Council who have notified us they will be on site on Monday to resolve the problem.

As I am sure you understand, this is an absolute last resort and the decision has not been taken lightly.

We will keep you informed as to when the nursery will be able to open again, we wanted to notify you as soon as possible so you can find alternative childcare arrangements for Monday. Should anything change before Monday we will of course let you know.

We will contact all fee paying parents at the beginning of next week.

    Apologies for the inconvenience

    Switch Off Fortnight
Monday, 13th November saw the start of the annual ‘Switch Off Fortnight’ Eco Schools campaign which aims to teach children about the importance of saving energy and choosing renewable energy sources. We spoke to the children about it on Tuesday reinforcing the importance of switching off lights, turning off equipment rather than having on standby etc

    Mathseeds
Mathseeds is an online maths programme for children which we would like your children to be using at home. It is full of fun, interactive lessons to help embed key maths skills which they are learning in school as well as improving their understanding and problem solving skills further. We would like to continue to use Mathseeds in Year 1 and Year 2, however if it isn't being used then we will unfortunately have to stop subscribing to it.

As homework next week, Year 1 and 2 will be setting a placement test for each child - please log on at home and let your child do it themselves so they start at the correct level for them. Please look on Google Classroom for the link and details to log on. Your child's login details can be found in their reading records.

Each week in our Friday assembly, we will celebrate the children who have used Mathseeds the most so please encourage your children to log on and enjoy the lessons set.
