Dear Parents / Carers

Welcome to the new half term. There are a lot of exciting events planned in school over the next few weeks.

Author Visit- Robin Stevens - Author of the 'Murder Most Unladylike Series' On Thursday 9th November, the popular Author Robin Stevens will be visiting the school to lead a reading workshop with years 4-6. As you may be aware, this is a very well-liked series by our children and this is a very exciting opportunity. In the workshop, the children will find out about her brand-new book The Body In The Blitz - the second instalment in The Ministry of Unladylike Activity series. Robin will share her tips and tricks on how to write the perfect murder mystery and the inspiration behind her new team of detectives. To pre-order copies of the books, ready to be signed and dedicated at school on the day, please click the link below and place your order through Chiltern Bookshops by 5pm, on Wednesday 8th November. https://schools.chilternbookshops.co.uk/events/robin-stevens-9th-november/

Book Fair in school next week - each year group will have opportunities to visit the fair during the week and to purchase booksWe will be accepting cash payments for books. We ask that if you choose to do this, that all money is in a named, sealed envelope and that your child gives this to their class teacher for safekeeping before the fairIt is also possible to pre-order vouchers to spend at the fair. Instructions on how to do this can be found here: https://bookfairs.scholastic.co.uk/travelling-books/parents#vouchers

We appreciate that it may not be possible to spare money to spend at the book fair. Class teachers will encourage children to write 'wish lists' to take home for future occasions e.g Christmas / Birthdays. We will also encourage each class to suggest their favourite book from the fair and we will see if we can purchase copies for our school library. We will have trips to the village library for every year group this half term, where we will encourage children to look for books they have seen at the fair. Finally, we will have a whole school free book event to look forward to later in the school year.
