  • Year 6 Careers Day - Tuesday 18th June

Wed 27 Mar 2024 CSG Junior School

    Dear Parents/Carers,

As part of our plans in the summer term, we are hoping to give the children some exposure to different careers they may be interested in in the future.

We are hoping that this day will be on Tuesday 18th June. During the day, we would like to invite parents to come in and share their careers with the Year 6 children. Careers day aims to give the children a glimpse into what their future could hold as they grow up and begin to think about these things.

These visits are the highlight of Careers Day and have always inspired the children. In the past we have had visits from a variety of fields, including representatives from medical, armed forces and STEM backgrounds.

The career talks do not have to be long or detailed, the children enjoy hearing about your careers, seeing some pictures, uniform or equipment your job requires.

If this is something you would be willing to do, please can you reply to this email, stating your career and when you would be available to come in on Tuesday 18th June. We can also answer any further questions you have about coming in and what the day involves.

The sessions we have available are:

    • 9:00-9:45
    • 9:45-10:30
    • 11:00-11:45
    • 11:50-12:20 (please note this slot is 15 minutes shorter)
    • 1:30-2:15
    • 2:15-3pm

    Kind Regards,

    Mrs Spencer and Mrs Franklin

  • Junior - Weekly email - Friday 8th March

Fri 08 Mar 2024 CSG Junior School
    Dear Parents / Carers

It was lovely to see so many family members in school today for our family day. Thank you to our fabulous PTA for sorting all of the gift orders and running the cafe this morning.

Well done to the Year 6 girls netball squad who came third in the netball tournament at DCHS on Tuesday. The Year 5 squad also played well in their first competition. The U11 boys football team drew their league match against Little Chalfont on Wednesday 4-4 - well done to Jack F who scored a hat trick.

We hope that the Year 4s enjoyed the football festival at Davenies on Tuesday  Feedback from Davenies: The sun shone, the football played by boys and girls was of a high standard (I thought the goalkeeping was particularly brave and outstanding), the effort and excitement was off the scale and there was plenty of good sportsmanship on show.

Congratulations to the U10 (Year 5) boys football team who finished second in their league over the season, and as runner-up this has qualified them for the quarter final of the competition. Good luck to them in their match against Holmer Green in a couple of weeks.

Thank you to Mrs Mannick for organising our World Book Day yesterday - there were some wondrous wonderful words' costumes in school.

Music and Arts - performers will be having a rehearsal with Mr Holmes next Wednesday morning - please can children bring in everything that they will need to do their performance on that day

Year 5 Churches trip on Monday 25th March - we are looking for two more parents to help on this trip to make it viable. If you are able to help please can you contact the school office or speak to your class teacher. Thank you

Nursery are holding an Open Day on Tuesday 12th March, if you or anyone you know is interested in a tour please contact the school office.

Menu change on Tuesday 12th March - update from St Joseph's Kitchen - following on from feedback regarding the BBQ sauce which has previously been served with the chicken bites, our hub kitchen has decided to send tomato ketchup instead of the BBQ sauce.
    Allergens: Contains Celery
