Reading
Reading is key to everything we do as a school - we love children to read for pleasure and see the impact of this in their writing. We have a number of resources available to support reading in school and at home.
Reading Eggs
Reading Eggs is a fabulous resource designed to build children's reading and comprehension skills. For more information about the scheme please see the attached information sheet. The feedback from children, parents and staff was very positive and we have decided to purchase the scheme last academic year for 18 months.
The introduction of the Reading Egg Scheme has been made possible through the support of Chalfont St Giles Community Library. We would like to thank the trustees for their generous support. Please encourage your children to get in the habit of borrowing books from the Community Library this will really help with improving their reading and enjoyment of books.
Community Library
You can join Bucks libraries at the Community Library via the BCC website here - https://www.buckscc.gov.uk/services/libraries/using-the-library/join-the-library/
Children can borrow up to 20 books on their library card and book reservations are free for children.
Each class has a scheduled visit to our Community Library during the school year during which time the library opens just for us during the school day.
