Infant and Junior School Admissions

Applications for all Infant School and Junior School places are dealt with by the Admissions Team at Buckinghamshire Council. Any application to join the school, either for Reception, Year 3 or as an in-year transfer, will need to be made through the Local Authority. Details of how to do this can be found at https://www.buckinghamshire.gov.uk/schools-and-learning/schools-index/school-admissions/. For any queries to the Local Authority about admission applications, please use the form that can be found here.

Although both our sites work together as a federation of schools, they have a separate admission process for each school.

School Places

Both the Infant and Junior schools are 2-form entry school. Up to 60 places are allocated by Buckinghamshire Council through the admissions process with 30 pupils in each class. Information from Buckinghamshire Council about when applications need to be made, admissions rules and catchment areas can be found here.

Places are allocated using criteria which include residence in the school’s catchment area, distance from school and whether or not the child already has a sibling attending the school. Chalfont St Giles Junior school has links with Chalfont St Giles Infant School which is factored into the admissions process. More information can be obtained by contacting the Admissions Team at Bucks CC with regard to your child’s chances of being allocated a place.

An Infant School Open Day and a Junior School Open Day are held in October and November in the Autumn Term. Please contact the school office for more details.
