School Meals

Both schools use St Joseph's as a hub kitchen for our hot meals with the menu being the same at both schools. A little about them:

"Our story and our partners - our priority is our customer".

Seasonal menu changes take place after consultations with every school we work with.  We then consider the guidelines set out by the Government and the School food plan to ensure we deliver a varied, healthy & nutritious menu. Finally, comes our firm belief in supporting  local business.

We are proud to work with Birring's Family Greengrocers in Chalfont St Peter for all our fresh fruit & vegetables. Our fresh meat is supplied by a Chiltern based butchers.  We cater for primary school children, serving schools in the local area  and we are extremely proud to have a 5* hygiene rating from Chiltern District Council and we constantly strive to improve everything we do.

We are St Josephs School Catering and we are based in Chalfont St Peter

Infant School Meals

By using Parentmail you will be able to order food for specific days rather than the ‘All In or All out’ system we used previously. We hope that this will offer you more flexibility as parents as well as reducing waste at school. When you choose your meal option, the dessert option comes automatically with the main course. Please be aware of the allergen details also supplied, should your child have specific dietary requirements.

For your convenience you will now be able to order up to 3 days in advance, for example you would need to have ordered on Friday for the following Monday, Saturday for Tuesday etc. Meal and allergen information is available on Parentmail as well as the school website. Please be aware that orders MUST be made through Parentmail and not the school office. If you are going to choose to order a hot school meal please ensure that your child is able to eat their food using a knife and fork as staff will not be able to cut food up for them.

Also available each day are mixed salad and seasonal vegetables. There is always an alternative vegetarian main meal option and alternative pudding choices. Wholemeal bread is available most days.

Pupils, who chose not to have a hot meal can bring a packed lunch.  Lunches should be labelled clearly and adhere to the 'Healthy School' guidelines,  We ask that you do not include sweets, chocolate bars or fizzy drinks in your child's lunch box. We are also a 'Nut Free' school and items containing nuts (including Nutella) are not permitted.

Junior School Meals

Hot meals are also available at the Junior School, at a cost of £2.98 per meal.

The school meal service will start at the Junior School on the first day of each term and meals must be pre-ordered. You can order meals up to 7 days in advance: for example you would need to order by Tuesday for the following Monday etc.  Please be aware that orders should be made or changed through ParentMail and not the school office.

If your child is absent due to illness and you have ordered a meal please let the office know by 9am on the day if you wish us to cancel your order - by email if possible. If we are informed of any changes to the menu, we will let you know in advance wherever possible.

Information regarding allergens or special dietary requirements can be found on this page of the website where you can find full details of the allergens for each dish in a week's menu.

Should you have any queries that you cannot resolve directly with Parentmail can we ask that you email the office rather than phoning as the school office is not staffed during the holidays.  Please be assured that if you have any issues with ParentMail, we will aim to resolve these before the school meal service starts.
