School Meals

Both schools use St Joseph's as a hub kitchen for our hot meals with the menu being the same at both schools. A little about them:

"Our story and our partners - our priority is our customer".

All our meals are freshly prepared each day in St Joseph’s kitchen. We are committed to supporting local businesses, which allows us to offer a wide range of high-quality, seasonal produce. Our greengrocer is based right here in Chalfont St Peter, and our butcher is located in Marlow.

We are extremely proud to have maintained a 5-star food hygiene rating from Buckinghamshire Council for over 10 years and we cater for 14 local schools. We listen carefully to parents’ views and balance them with children’s requests and Government guidelines.

Our menu is designed to offer a varied and nutritious “home-cooked” meal every day, while also giving pupils the opportunity to try new flavours and broaden their tastes.

Infant School Meals

By using ParentPay you will be able to order food for specific days rather than the ‘All In or All out’ system we used previously. We hope that this will offer you more flexibility as parents as well as reducing waste at school. When you choose your meal option, the dessert option comes automatically with the main course. Please be aware of the allergen details also supplied, should your child have specific dietary requirements.

Parents are required to order meals at least 12 days in advance.  For example for your child to have a meal for a Monday, you will need to have ordered ordered by Wednesday (12 days earlier). Meal and allergen information is available on ParentPay as well as the school website. Please be aware that orders MUST be made through ParentPay and not the school office. If you are going to choose to order a hot school meal please ensure that your child is able to eat their food using a knife and fork as staff will not be able to cut food up for them.

Also available each day are mixed salad and seasonal vegetables. There is always an alternative vegetarian main meal option . Wholemeal bread is available most days.

Pupils, who chose not to have a hot meal can bring a packed lunch.  Lunches should be labelled clearly and adhere to the 'Healthy School' guidelines,  We ask that you do not include sweets, chocolate bars or fizzy drinks in your child's lunch box. We are also a 'Nut Free' school and items containing nuts (including Nutella) are not permitted.

Junior School children can order their hot school meal via ParentPay – 11 days in advance. Daily orders are placed with St Josephs kitchen by 9:30am each morning. Please be aware that orders should be made or changed through ParentPay and not the school office.

If your child is absent due to illness and you have ordered a meal, please let the office know by 9:30am on the day if you wish us to cancel your order – by email if possible. If we are informed of any changes to the menu, we will let you know in advance wherever possible.

Information regarding allergens or special dietary requirements can be found on this page of the website, where you can find full details of the allergens for each dish in a week's menu.

Should you have any queries that you cannot answer directly with ParentPay can we ask you to email the office.
