Dear Year 5 Parents
We hope your children are looking forward to Year 6 and have enjoyed their time in school this week.
As you can understand, the plans for the start of next year are still being developed as we await further guidance. However, we would like to let you know of our (hopeful) plans for Careers Week- a highlight of our Year 6 year.
This year, we are hoping to run Careers week from Monday 7th September to Friday 11th. Careers week aims to give the children a glimpse into what their future could hold as they grow up and begin to think about these things.
The current guidance indicates that we will be unable to have visitors into school for the time being. With this in mind, we would like to invite you to submit a virtual talk about your career. This could be a video in the style of 'a day in the life of.....' or a short face to camera talk explaining what you do and maybe showing us some equipment you need or some pictures. Alternatively, if your organisation has career resources that we can share with the children, we would appreciate this also.
The career talks do not have to be long or detailed, the children enjoy hearing about your careers, seeing some pictures, uniform or equipment your job requires.
If this is something you would be willing to do, please can you reply to this email, stating your career and if you are able to send in something.
As I'm sure you can empathise with, we are even more keen to make sure the children have an excellent start to their time in Year 6, to make the careers week even better than before!
We are looking forward to having your children in Year 6
