Teacher's email - Bonsai - Friday 27th March

Hi Bonsai,

What an unusual week it has been for us all! I have planned my days just like we spoke about in school last week. The days where I haven’t been in school, I give myself time to follow The Body Coaches Live Workout on Youtube Monday to Friday at 9am, if you haven’t done it yet, it is great fun and gets me ready for the day; I have heard Mrs English has been doing it with her daughter too. I also give myself time to focus on work I need to do for school and then I have been going for walks to get some fresh air and get my steps up! It has been really hard since we have been off, I need to make more of an effort when I’m not in school, I don’t have any of you to compare my steps with after break time! On Monday, I met my Mum, Dad and Ruby (their golden retriever) in a field behind my house for a walk, Ruby loves to cool off in a stream, she runs down there after every walk on our way home!

I have been reading more since we have been away, I am the first to admit I don’t give myself enough time to read, so this is the perfect opportunity, I should be able to share lots of new vocabulary with you when we are back. I am currently reading A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness and I also have Who let the Gods Out and Can you see me? ready to read next, I’ll let you know what I think once I have finished.

I hope you are all keeping busy! I can see lots of you have been logging on to Reading Eggs and MyMaths, try and keep up with your reading as much as you can. I hope you have enjoyed some of the activities you have been doing this week, I can’t wait to read some of your stories. Miss Warner and I were quite excited when we found those story starters to get you thinking, we were hoping you would use all your learning from Literacy this year and apply it to your very own story, we know how many of you will enjoy having the freedom to do some free writing. If you are unsure about any the activities then have a look on the school website to help you with ideas and additional things to do. Please don’t worry if you haven’t been able to do all the of the activities each day, I am sure you find it tricky being at home and still doing lots of work, I know I do! I am really looking forward to hearing all about your time at home and the work you have been doing. Make sure you have been helping around the house and being kind and supporting your siblings too!

Hope to see you all soon,

Miss Murray

PS: When giving the choice between being right and being kind, choose kind.
