Last week Mrs. Rock wrote to you all about Winne the Pooh because it was Winnie the Pooh Day. I like Winnie the Pooh too- and some of the things that it says in his books are really good for getting us to think like philosophers. Here is a quote from a Winnie the Pooh story:
“Just because an animal is large, it doesn’t mean he doesn’t want kindness; however big Tigger seems to be, remember that he wants as much kindness as Roo.”
What do you think about this? Does it matter how big or old you are when it comes to kindness? What does kindness mean to you? When have you been kind? It is especially important to be kind at the moment - can you think of something kind you could do this week? Perhaps you could help a grown up at home by doing a chore? Perhaps you could ask permission to ring a grandparent or write them a note and post it saying something nice and positive to keep them smiling? Perhaps you could say thank you to somebody who is working super hard through this pandemic?
I think that no matter how big you are, it is important to be kind.
What do you think?
Have a lovely week,
