Dear Parents/Carers,

Based on the weather forecast for Wednesday, please could you ensure that your child has the following for the hike:

• Plenty of layers so that they are warm enough (base layers would be ideal as a starting point)
• Warm trousers
• Walking boots/trainers that fit
• Warm, comfortable socks
• Spare socks
• A waterproof/windproof jacket
• Hat and gloves and a scarf

The children should also bring a rucksack/comfortable bag containing the following:

• A packed lunch (no fizzy drinks please)
• A bottle of water
• Some snacks for the afternoon (dried fruit, beef jerky, a packet of sweets) – no nuts

The groups will be setting off between 09:30 and 10:00 and will be back by normal end of school day.

The pollen count is foreacast to be high this week so if your child suffers from hayfever please can you check the forecast and ensure that they have taken any necessary meds before school.

Please can children bring in a spare pair of shoes and socks (and possibly trousers) to change into when they get back from the hike plus a bin bag/carrier bag for their muddy items.

The above applies to adult helpers as well plus please ensure that you have a fully charged mobile phone with you - if the number of this phone is different than the one used as a school contact number please let us know ASAP.
