Weekly email - Friday 3rd July

Dear Parents/ Carers,

It has been lovely to see the Year 5 children at school this week along with some additional Year 1, Reception and Nursery children.

The staff and children have had a great time together and enjoyed their time in class. Staff have been so impressed with the children’s attitude to learning and towards each other. They are an absolute credit to you.

Next week we are looking forward to seeing Year 4 and Amethyst Class join us at the Junior School.

After the Government announcement yesterday and receipt of the first draft of the guidance we are working hard to prepare our plans for opening in September.  We will share these plans with you before the summer break. We have contacted our meal provider to confirm what they will be able to offer from September and will include this information in the plans.

We are extending our opening on the last day of term 17th July. We will not finish at the advertised time of 1.30 at the Infants and 2 .00 at the Juniors. Any children who are attending school that day need to be collected from school at their current pick up times.

The staff have raised a few concerns with me this week as they have seen and have been made aware of groups of children who are meeting up beyond the school day and spending time together. These groups are made up of children from different bubbles from across the school which increases the risk of cross contamination and increases the points of contact. Staff are concerned that all of the hard work we are doing at school to limit contact is being put in jeopardy.

We are so excited about having the children back in September and would hate for there to be a local spike that delays all of our plans. Please consider the work that the staff are doing when making your plans so that we all keep as safe as possible.

Have a great weekend and take care.
