Weekly email - Friday 29th January

Dear Parents and Carers

What strange times we are living in. In some ways the days seem to pass so quickly but this lockdown seems to have been going on forever and now an announcement that it will continue. Whilst the situation is out of our control it is so hard to work out how to deal with the circumstances we find ourselves in.

At times like this is it important to pause for a moment and think about the positive things that are happening around us. Look at your wonderful children- they are happy, healthy and safe. You are doing a fantastic job and you should be so proud of what you and your children are achieving. Be kind to yourselves and try to remember three positive things that have happened this week. I know it’s hard sometimes but it is so worth taking some time to do it.

We know that everyone’s circumstances are different and we appreciate that so…..

  • Do what you can while you juggle so many other things.

  • Know that some children will do all the work and some will do key pieces.

  • If you can make sure you talk with your children; play with them; practice number bonds or times tables and read with them across the week - fantastic.

  • Don’t let the pressure get too much - prioritise the work so that the pressure is reduced - teachers will happily help you do this.

Remember you are doing a great job. These are tough times, the weather isn’t helping and so we need to support each other as much as we can. If you need us, you know where we are- we aren’t going anywhere.

Supporting vulnerable families

We are continuing to work with Louise Chamberlain from the Community Support Network so that vulnerable families are supported. If you need support with your weekly food shop or financial support or advice, please contact us so that we can put you in touch with the organisation. Or you can contact them on: or use their contact page here.

If you know of anyone who would benefit from this help please do get in touch.

If you need support with wellbeing or mental health  please see what we can offer on our Mental Health and Wellbeing page here

Attached to this email are the weekly resources from Bucks MIND. The theme this week is Positive News and Inspiring People.

Online access to Google Classroom via Xbox and PlayStation

It is possible to gain access to your child’s Google Classroom via their XBox or PlayStation. You will need to know the edition of device you have- ie PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 as instructions for each edition is slightly different -these are readily available on the internet. In order to take advantage of this you will need a USB keyboard to plug into the device.

Take care one and all. Hope you have a lovely weekend.

Love Mrs P
