Weekly email - Friday 26th June

Dear Parents/ Carers,

This week you will have received an invitation for your child to have an in-school experience before the end of term. I am so pleased that we have been able to provide some contact between teachers and pupils, albeit limited.

The complications of ensuring that staff who are currently supporting key worker bubbles can come out of these bubbles and isolate and then rejoin another bubble later in the term, as well as still providing staffing to keep all of the groups and classes running has been highly complex. We have our plans in place now and we are very much looking forward to seeing the children in the coming weeks.

If you have a child in Nursery, Reception and Year 1 you will also have received a letter this week to confirm the days that your child can come to school for the remainder of this term. At the beginning of the process of returning to school there was no way of anticipating the increasing demand for places over time. We appreciate some of you may be disappointed with the offer you have received but we are doing the best we can with the limited facilities within our small village school. I know the children and staff are enjoying their days together.

Next week we are expecting an announcement about the return to school in September. As soon as we have received the guidance we will adapt our plans where needed and communicate with parents as soon as we can.

The staff team has been amazing. The morale is high and we are all determined to do the best we can for your children in difficult circumstances. Thank you for the supportive emails and comments that so many of you have sent to us. These keep us going and help us to keep smiling. It has been said that communities are judged by their compassionate actions and words. Your kind messages are really helping- Thank you.

Take care, keep healthy and have a lovely weekend
