Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you so much for your feedback about our remote learning offer. Staff wanted to pass on their thanks for the lovely comments of support that parents are sending to them.
These many comments include:
"Thanks for all of the hard work that went to putting this offer together in the first place, it has been a real lifeline at times."
"Thanks so much for your hard work. I completely appreciate this must be a hugely difficult time for you. Hang on in there, everyone has done so well and hopefully this will be a distant memory soon."
"I wanted to congratulate you and the team for the organisation behind the home schooling plan."
"We feel well connected to the school and teachers at this time, with a variety of tasks, subjects and levels. The contact between children and teachers is immensely helpful as my children 'own' their learning a little more and receive the feedback directly. It makes such a difference to their motivation and positivity."
"We just wanted to say thank you to you and all of the staff for the home learning that has been offered this week’….’ starting the day with live registration is brilliant."
"So all in all, a big thank you for everything you are doing to make this the best experience possible."
The senior team met this week to discuss some ideas and points raised by parents and have shared these with staff. As I am sure you are aware, staff are working incredibly hard in very difficult circumstances but I can assure you that they are adjusting as they go and as they become more even familiar with teaching remotely.
Lateral Flow tests for staff
You may have seen in the press that regular lateral flow testing of primary school staff should commence next week. I just wanted to let you know that we are ready for this and hope that this in some way will prepare us for the wider reopening of schools when this is allowed.
Marking and feedback
Thank you to everyone submitting work on Google Classroom. We understand that you are all getting used to the technology too so that for some this is a challenge. If you need support with submitting work please contact us so we can help.
To confirm there are 3 pieces of work each week which will receive more detailed feedback. All other work is seen by the teacher and they respond to this as regularly as possible.
Please submit all work so that teachers can track how your child is getting along and offer support and praise for their engagement and hard work.
Technology
Thank you to all of the parents who have contacted us with a request for additional devices at home to allow even better access to remote learning for their children. We will be in touch next week about this.
Wellbeing
There are lots of resources and ideas about how we can protect our mental health and wellbeing including on the NHS website here.
