Dear Parents / Carers
It was so exciting to take delivery of the new classroom for Mrs Rock today. We are absolutely delighted with this new addition to the school which means that Mrs Rock and the children that she works with will have a room of their own.
We have now had Parent Information Meetings for all year groups and copies of the presentations are given below:
Parent Information Meetings:
Summer Reading Challenge - if any children completed the Summer Reading Challenge please send in your certificates or medals so they can be shared in our Friday awards assembly.
Nut awareness - we have a number of children attending our school who have severe nut allergies - including both peanuts and tree-growing nuts. This allergy is not just triggered through ingestion but can also be via touch and inhalation. Under no circumstances should any items containing nuts or nut products be brought onto site, either during the school day or before and after school. Such products also include peanut butter and Nutella/hazelnut chocolate spread and some cereal bars. Please be aware of the ingredients of items that your children are bringing in to school. Your cooperation on this matter is very much appreciated.
Keeping Young People Safe - As part of Bucks rolling “Stay True to You” campaign, helping to support practitioners and parents in keeping young people safe, we have set another date for a free, online information session for all parents/carers. For all parents/carers and family members worried about how to keep their child safe, a free online information session on knife crime is offered 6.30pm - 8.30pm Weds 25 September. Register in advance: https://benkinsellatrust.beaconforms.com/form/498546b0
Delivered by The Ben Kinsella Trust, each session covers the risk factors that can cause conflict and lead to violence, explores what is driving the “fear factor” that can lead to vulnerable young people carrying weapons for perceived self-protection, and also looks at issues including online harm, exploitation, gangs and county drug lines. The sessions aim to raise awareness of these issues and to give parents the confidence of signs and symptoms to look out for, tips on how to build stronger relationships and to have those difficult conversations. It explores some of the learning from the wider “Stay True to You” campaign (more info www.staytruetoyou.co.uk/parents)
