Well, here we are, at the end of a very strange school year. Who would have thought that things would turn out this way?
I have loved seeing more and more of the children around the schools over the past few weeks. I really missed their smiles and little chats. It’s been good to hear that families are doing well and you should know that your children have shared some great memories of their time at home.
I know that the children who are leaving us, including those from Year 2 and 6, are ready for the next stage of their learning journey. I can’t wait to hear what they get up to. I wish them every success in their new schools.
I’m not so good at goodbyes though, as the parents of Year 6 know. Each year I struggle through talking with the children, wishing them well and sending them off with lots of love and luck from the school team. This year has been even more difficult.
I know that there have been highs and lows for everyone and I hope that as restrictions continue to relax we can use the summer to reconnect with family and friends and take some time for ourselves and each other. My love and thoughts go to those who have lost loved ones.
On behalf of the staff, I would like to thank you for the wonderful, generous gifts and kind, thoughtful messages which have brought many a tear to people’s eyes. We feel blessed to be working together as a team and send heartfelt thanks for the amazing contribution you make to that team.
We are so looking forward to September and staff can’t wait to have the children back in school. I am waiting until later in August to send out our final plans so that we can ensure that we have included any new guidance from the Government within them.
Please keep safe. We look forward to welcoming you back in September.
Love Mrs Peal
