Dear Parents and Carers,
The governors, staff and I have noted the guidance issued on Tuesday by the Department of Education (DfE) regarding the closure of schools at the end of the day on Thursday 17th December for the Christmas break.
We have had to agree to this change to the end of term because school staff are now needed to be contactable to 'Track and Trace' for 6 days after the last day of term. If we made no change to our term dates this would mean staff having to be on duty until Christmas Eve so they could access pupil records.
As a result of the guidance received, Thursday 17th December will be our last day of term. We will use the normal staggered end of day pick up times and we will not finish early. We have decided to designate Friday the 18th December as a remote learning day and a remote learning plan will be sent home next week for you and your child to access.
School will reopen as planned on Tuesday 5th January
I am sorry for the late realisation of this issue by the DfE and apologise for any inconvenience the change of dates may cause you.
