Please read - Covid-19 Guidance

Dear Parents/Carers

We currently have a number of children with a variety of Covid-like symptoms.  In order to alleviate confusion and to also avoid rapid spread within the school community we would like to remind you of the following points.

Lateral Flow Tests are used to see if a person is asymptomatic (ie. has Covid-19 but is not showing any symptoms).  If this test is positive you are required to self isolate for 5 days and can only end your isolation as long as you test negative on day 5 and day 6.

The following are the main symptoms of Covid-19:

  • temperature
  • a continuous cough
  • loss of taste or smell

If you or your family member are showing any of the above symptoms an LFT is not sufficient.  Government guidance is to have a PCR test to test if you have Covid and to isolate whilst waiting for the results.

If a family member has tested positive, other members without symptoms must take a negative LFT for 5 days in order to avoid quarantining.

Other possible symptoms with the Omicron variant are:

  • headaches
  • sneezing
  • runny nose
  • fatigue
  • sore throat

As we all know there are other bugs and illnesses around at this time of year so  if your child is unwell in any way, please do not send them to school.

Kind regards
