Juniors - end of year email

Dear All

 

Year 6 had a great day in the sunshine on Monday for their Fun Day. The money raised during Mini Enterprise week is used to pay for this day plus Mr Holt from CSG Motors kindly provided the inflatable bouncy slide. Thank you to the Year 6 staff for organising this day.

 

We had a lovely morning celebrating leavers day with Year 6 today. We hope that everyone has enjoyed the songs and sketches and memories that they shared in assembly today.

 

A quick reminder that school closes at 14:15 today.  Side gates will be open as normal just after 2pm.   

 

The School Council have been talking to their classes about things that they would like to do by the time they are 11 3/4s. These ideas are summarised in their latest meeting minutes

School meals - menus and allergy information for the Autumn Term is on the website here children are asked during morning register if they wish to order a school meal that day. We also use these lists to add details of meals ordered to ParentPay. Please ensure that your child is aware of whether they are having a school meal or a packed lunch each day.

Uniform - Please note that the deadline for back to school uniform (online and in store)from PMG Schoolwear is Friday 16th August. Orders received after this date are not guaranteed for the start of the Autumn term.

New Year 3 in September - we are looking forward to your children joining our school in September. There are two letters so far for September, the Egyptian Day letter (please start thinking about possible costumes for this event) and a Pebble Request letter - this can be found on the school website here Copies of all letters sent home are added to the letters page of the Website.. Copies of the weekly emails sent home on Fridays are added to the Latest News page.

 

If you wish to keep up to date with calendar entries then you can synch the website calender to your own online calendar here or download TheSchoolApp.

 

As a school we use Classlist for parents to communicate with other parents, class parent reps and the PTA. If you do not already use Classlist as an Infant School parent then an invitation link will be sent out to you in September. Please take a moment to read the guidlines on appropriate use of Classlist. All pupils will have their new classes on Classlist updated once we return to school in September.

 

Friday 6th September - PTA Summer BBQ rescheduled event - 4:30pm to 7:30pm. Zorb bookings will be honoured so please hold onto your tickets. If your child is not able to make their zorb slot please can you contact the PTA via Classlist to discuss this. This event is for children, and their families, who currently attend the Junior School (Year 3 to Year 6 in July 2019) plus new Year 3s (September intake).

 

Community events - CSG Village Show will take place on Saturday 7th September - click here for details of the parade and the talent show. Show schedules are available at the School Office. Full details can be found at www.csgshow.org      

 

Children have been working on entries for the village show during the past few weeks and this work will be sent home this week. Parents can then submitted these entries to the show committee. Details of these categories and copies of the entry form are on the website here.  You can also enter online via the CSG Show website - http://www.csgshow.org/competitions/default.asp 

 

Colouring competition entries can be completed at home and either returned to the School Office by the end of term or handed in at Chalfont St Giles Library by 31st August. Year 3 and Year 4 have been given paper copies to take home or a printable version is on the website here.

 

The Village Library Summer Reading Challenge is being held again this year - details are  available here

Monday 9th September - Year 6 Careers Week - Year 6 parents are invited to visit to present a session during the week to talk about their careers. Please contact Year 6 teachers or contact us via the School Office if you would like to take part.
