Junior - Weekly Update

Orange Day:  A huge thank you to everyone who took joined in wearing orange today to take part in raising money and awareness for Muscular Dystrophy UK. We received approximately £180 today for this charity.
 
Homework: If your child has homework that is to be sent in electronically please use the class homework emails and not the junior office email address:

PE Days:  Please can children have PE kit in school for their PE day.  This term Year 3 is Monday, Year 5 is Tuesday, Year 4 is Wednesday and Year 6 is Thursday.
 
Sainsburys Active Kids vouchers scheme has started again and we shall be collecting vouchers with the aim to buy some cooking and sports equipment. The collection box is on top of the reading books bookcase by the main hall.  If you do shop in Sainsburys please consider collecting some vouchers for us and sending them in to school.
 
School Day:  Please remember that school staff are not responsible for children on site until 08:40 each morning, unless they are attending a club on site.
 
Dogs: Please remember that dogs are not permitted on site unless by prior arrangement with the school ie Doug.
 
Outdoor Learning Area Update:  A big thank you to Yaldens who have kindly donated gardening gloves, compost and seeds for the Outdoor Learning Area this year.  The children are enjoying moving the compost in wheelbarrows to the raised beds.  Merlins Cave have also kindly donated 25 miniature Christmas trees for planting in the Outdoor Learning area.
 
A huge thank you to those who already come in and help with the outdoor learning area.  We'd love to hear from anyone else who can spare a few hours, once a fortnight on a Monday afternoon, and you hold a current Bucks County Council DBS - we'd really appreciate your help.

Music Annexe:  Sadly the music annexe has reached the end of its life and the building will be removed shortly. Music lessons and clubs that met in there during the week have been relocated. Please see the diary date information below for new locations. This is the first phase of the planned changes and we do plan to replace the building in the future.
 
PTA Supermarket Vouchers:  Orders for PTA Supermarket Vouchers must be emailed to csg.shopforschool@gmail.com by Monday 30th January for delivery on Wednesday 8th February.  Please consider ordering Tesco/Sainsburys/John Lewis vouchers to use for your supermarket shopping and to make money for the school.  
 
PTA Disco Tickets:  There are still a few Disco tickets available.  If your child wishes to go please pass your forms and payment to Miss Clowes in the Office by Tuesday.  Not the PTA BOX.  Tickets will be issued on a first come first served basis, so don't forget the form. (Form attached below).

  • Cello lessons with Mrs Tullie in IT Meeting Room
  • Gardening - Year 3 Oak Class children will be gardening with two parent volunteers in our Outdoor Learning Area during the afternoon.  Please could you send your children in with a waterproof coat, clothes that you do not mind getting dirty and wellington boots.  The children will be taken out in small groups for approximately 45 minutes during the afternoon.
  • Hockey Club in Main Hall/Top Playground for children in Year 3, 4 & 5 -  with John Spicer - club finishes at 16:30

 

Tuesday 31st January

  • Drama - all years - meet Mrs Golding in Main Hall at 12:20 for Years 5 and 6 and 12:50 for Years 3 and 4 (Year 3 and 4 drama club members please go for first lunch)

Future Dates
 
Monday 6th February:  Year 6 trip to London Transport Museum & London Eye
 
Tuesday 7th February:  Year 3 PE Festival in Amersham.  Please can consent forms be returned to school as soon as possible.
 
Tuesday 7th February:  Year 6 to attend Songs of Praise service at Village Church - service starts at 11:30 and parents, friends and family are welcome to attend.
